Hi, I’m Michaela — the human behind Upward Spiral Dance 😝

It’s been a while since I introduced myself, and I’m seeing lots of new faces here… hi!! 👋

Quick backstory: I danced as a kid, quit for a bit, then found my way back in college (and never looked back). That path took me all over — from ASU to NYC to Italy 🇮🇹

Along the way, I realized something: a lot of “beginner” classes don’t actually feel beginner-friendly… especially for adults.

After years of teaching (and a stint as a barre instructor), I became obsessed with breaking movement down in a way that actually makes sense — and feels good to do.

So I created Upward Spiral Dance 🌀
A space where adults can start (or restart) dance and feel successful.

We just turned 3, moved into a bigger studio, and even performed in Italy last year (!!)
