Poetry+Pastries: A Lineage of Voice 🎙️✍🏾

Today, Phoenix Center for the Arts facilitated a workshop to help onsemi employees celebrate the upcoming National Black Poetry Day (Sat, Oct 17).

Through a guided creative process supported by MUSE, onsemi employees gathered for an experience inspired by the legacy of Jupiter Hammon and the enduring power of storytelling, reflection, and poetry.

Participants explored the people, places, memories, and lessons that have shaped their lives, transforming personal reflections into original poems. The experience invited each person to consider not only where their voice comes from, but what they hope to pass forward.

One of the most powerful moments of the day came when five employees courageously stepped forward to perform their original poems, sharing pieces of their lived experiences, wisdom, and perspective with colleagues.

Participants also contributed messages of lineage, selecting lines, lessons, and words they believe the next generation should carry with them. These collective contributions will be compiled and presented to a local youth-serving organization as a gift of encouragement, reflection, and connection.

Thank you to everyone who added their voice to the lineage. Together, we created a powerful reminder that every voice matters, every story holds value, and every generation has something worth passing forward.
