Starlight Scribe Starlight Scribe is an arts blog that explores the source of inspiration and shares the significant moments that influence an artist's creative process.

Arizona became my home in the summer of 1957, where my roots in the arts and education began to flourish, setting the stage for a lifelong journey of community engagement. Here, I discovered the transformative power of creative thought and the profound responsibility of sharing it with others. My diverse experience within Arizona's public schools and at Arizona State University opened doors to a c

areer in the arts and education. However, the vibrant energy of art studios, the inspiring spaces of theater, and the collaboration with innovative individuals ignited my passion. Over time, I realized that creativity is the force that unites communities and shapes culture. Exploring the artist’s creative process is more than documentation; it celebrates the creative spirit and the limitless power of imagination. My inspiration is grounded in the story that emerges from the intuitive journey. Each act of artistic expression is a living testament to the power of intention, and it is through sharing these stories that we honor the artists who offer their vision to the world. In my exploration of the arts, I have embraced brilliant ideas, various concepts, and infinite possibilities. By sharing the stories of those who embody these principles, we celebrate the ever-expanding dance of creativity and the boundless imagination that connects us all. Ideas, inspiration, creativity, and collaboration are the threads that weave communities together and define culture. I have partnered with fellow creatives to channel their vision, intention, courage, and persistence into a shared journey of innovation, self-expression, and transformative impact. Together, we are weaving our radiant energy to expand boundaries, spark change, and create community that reflects our collective strengths and passions. Welcome to Starlight Scribe, an arts blog dedicated to capturing the pivotal milestones in an artist's creative journey. Here, we explore the moments, processes, and people that shape the heart of artistic expression.

“My inspiration is grounded in the story that emerges from the intuitive journey.”

Unlike most drawing media, where the artist adds mid-tones and shadows, Joe works by adding highlights to the images. This approach is a natural transition for Joe from his illustrator roots into the works of Fine Art.

Three Dimensional Parables in Sculpture - "Sculpture is a parable in three dimensions, a symbol of a spiritual experience, and a means of conveying truth by concentrating its essence into visual form. It must reflect the artist who creates it and the era in which s/he lives, not an echo or a memory of other days and other ways." Malvina Hoffman, Sculptor, and Author. Artist Carol Fleming possesses a similar understanding of clay as a medium and a connection to the spiritual experience.
