Flying Cat Music

Flying Cat Music Just wanted to tell people that Flying Cat Music does not maintain this page on a regular basis. It is left over from a former time.

The Phoenicia Playhouse is thrilled to be the new home of Flying Cat Music, a beloved concert series celebrating contemporary bringing the best touring acts of Americana, singer-songwriters, and bluegrass to the Catskills. We have our own website: www.flyingcatmusic.com and there is a different page that we use more regularly because it has been in use for 10 years, from before the launch of Flying Cat in fact. That is the page for Phoenicia Phirst Phriday, a concert series we ran for 5 years. Here is the link to that: https://www.facebook.com/phoenicia.phriday/… In the future we may start using this page more also, but for now please go to our self standing web page for concert info. We tend to post videos of our upcoming acts at the PH3 page

Returning to the Phoenicia Playhouse for our 50th Season... Flying Cat Music presents the dynamic and adventurous Rick Reyes Quartet!

Saturday, June 13th
Doors @ 6:30 pm
Show @ 7:00 pm

Rick Reyes is a singer, songwriter, and cultural storyteller whose work draws from Caribbean folk traditions, American roots music, and lived experience. His music moves between solo work and collaborative projects, grounded in rhythm, story, and place. The work comes from lived experience and the human spirit.

Reyes creates music that has a traditional Puerto Rican flavor but is also open and receptive to other sounds from around the cosmos, blending classic American Rock, Salsa, Merengue, and Latin jazz, among others.

@ The Phoenicia Playhouse
10 Church Street
Phoenicia NY, 12464

To date, Reyes has created and plays in three bands: the Cosmic Jibaros, a band with a unique Bridgeport sound combining a mixture of rock, Puerto Rican roots, and socially-conscious songs; The Pasofino Social Club, which is a nod to the Latin bands of yesterday; and Novela sin Tiempo, an all acoustic group with a Latin and world-music flavor.

Released in 2013, Novela Sin Tiempo (Timeless Story) is also the name of his solo album, a collection of songs that tell a story of struggle and determination, of daring to dream, and of the courage it takes to step into the unknown.
