Hey there, I'm Ovni, but you can just call me the Mermaid. No, I don't have a fishtail, but I do have a knack for crafting stories that enchant and captivate readers from the very first page. As an editor, I've dedicated myself to perfecting the written word. Whether it's smoothing out sentence structure, fine-tuning dialogue, or ensuring consistency throughout a manuscript, I'm all about helping authors bring their stories to life in the most compelling way possible.

But editing is just one facet of my creative journey. I'm also a prolific writer in my own right, with over 10 million words and more than 175 romance novels to my name. From whirlwind love affairs to slow-burning romances, I've explored every facet of the genre, weaving tales that resonate with readers and leave them longing for more.

When I'm not lost in the world of words, you'll often find me embracing the great outdoors. There's something incredibly rejuvenating about spending time in nature, whether it's hiking through rugged terrain, lounging on a sun-drenched beach, or simply taking a leisurely stroll through a local park. And let's not forget my love of gardening. There's nothing quite like sinking my hands into the soil, planting seeds and watching as vibrant blooms burst forth in a riot of color. It's a hobby that brings me endless joy and allows me to connect with the natural world on a deeper level.

In a previous chapter of my life, I served as the director of operations for a ghostwriting firm. While the experience was invaluable, I ultimately felt constrained by the corporate environment and longed for the freedom to pursue my own creative endeavors. Now, as an independent author and entrepreneur, I'm finally living life on my own terms and sharing my stories with the world.

So if you're ready to embark on a journey filled with romance, adventure, and maybe even a touch of whimsy, then grab one of my novels and prepare to be swept away. After all, with each turn of the page, you never know where the story might take you.

Along the way, though, life and other cool things happened. During college, I majored in poetry writing. Super marketable, huh? I can still recall the horrified expressions of my parents when I announced my college major change. But before Marge and Homer could flip out, I reminded them...I'm still premed. Sure enough, I got into (and graduated!) med school. Then I decided to become a rural FP/Ob (family doc who delivers babies out in the boonies).
And so it went. Medical school, residency, fellowship, and private practice. For about 14 years, my life was nothing but medicine, and the experience was (is) amazing. During that time, the little piece of my soul which loved writing slept.
Then one day, that little piece of Jillian which loved writing woke up. She tapped me on the shoulder and asked: if this medicine thing was under control, could she now come out to play?
Blammo! That little piece of Jillian which loved writing went crazy, creating the Best Novel Ever in the history of all romance writing. Life intervened again, and I shelved the Best Novel Ever for another three years. Once again, I came back to the writing and found the manuscript again. I polished and polished, and then realized that...it was really awful. It was, in fact, the Worst Novel in the Known Universe. (The original hard copy got burned in effigy but I hear there's a digital copy out there, serving as blackmail.)
Despite producing the Worst Novel in the Known Universe, I now had the writing bug. Thousands of ideas were dying to be let out. So I let them out in rushes and stampedes. Several years later the first book of my Hell to Pay series was born.
I'd love to say that the rest of history, but history is still writing itself. With every new manuscript, every 3am delivery of a new life, every hospitalized patient with a severe illness, every clinic visit, each new idea, and with each turn of a phrase, the future continues to be written.

From her website:

This is the spot where I'm supposed to tell you how much I enjoy writing, and how I wanted to be a writer since I was a fetus. Okay, it's true. But there's more to it. Along the way, though, life...

Hi, I'm LaTrell Halcomb. Born and raised in Bowling Green, KY. Truck driver during the day, author in my spare time. Having children really opened my eyes more to the importance of literature for our youth. Writing children books that not only can educate scholars but have them smiling at the same. My hopes are to be an inspiration to the generations to come that they can fulfill whatever goal in life they have.

Meet .clayton33 (Pumpkins and Pages Book Festival 2026)
Check out the blurb from her book, Broken and Bound:
She was stolen, broken, and left for dead. Now, Layla is free—but freedom comes with its own chains. The rebellion is rising, and Bash, the ruthless leader with silver-tongued charm, sees her as the key to victory. He will wield her like a weapon, bend her to his will…or break her trying.

Avery is done being a prisoner. His chains are gone, and his heart is set on one thing—the sister he lost. The rebellion gives him the resources to finally uncover the truth about Alice. But Bash sees the cracks in his resolve and knows exactly how to drive a wedge between him and Layla. Lies are whispered. Loyalties are tested. And the soul bond between Avery and Layla frays under the weight of war.

As swords clash and shadows rise, Layla is no longer just a queen—she is a warrior. A reckoning. A force that will shatter the world that tried to break her. But love is fragile in the face of destiny, and in the war for Entrana, only one thing is certain—either Layla and Avery will stand together, or they will fall apart forever.
