ASHLEY REYELTS
Miss Ashley Reyelts has been dancing since she was just three years old and began her time at Barefoot in 2016. She comes from a large background of dance and theatre experience. Reyelts has been trained under many local studios in her hometown of Rapid City; as well as under the instruction of Mark Morris Company, Repertory Dance Theater, the American Tap Dance Foundation and the Joffrey Ballet. She has also been trained by a diverse set of teachings in higher educational dance from South Dakota State University, and the University of Wyomings Snowy Range Dance Festival. Her training has led her to performances such as Clara in "The Nutcracker", and Sillibub in "Cats". Reyelts has had the opportunity to perform in the National Broadway Tour of "The Wizard of Oz", and at Disneyland. She is an active member of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO), and most recently she spent time studying dance education in Phoenix Arizona; through Arizona State University.
Ashley has since returned to Rapid City to pursue teaching at Barefoot Dance Studio, and also holds the position of Barefoot's Event Coordinator. Miss Ashley is an award winning coach for the Barefoot Dance Team, and manages Barefoot's Pre-Team.
Most recently, Reyelts assisted the Chamber Music Festival of the Black Hills in their production of "Riders on the Storm." Awards include: Outstanding Choreography (Celebration Dance Talent 2021).
LACEE WICK
Mrs. Lacee Wick started dancing at the age of 5 to age 17 years old. She attended the Academy of Dance in Rapid City. She always regretted not going further with her dance career but life happened. She eventually found her love of dance again through her two beautiful girls. In the time of absence from dancing, Lacee earned her degree in cosmetology from Black Hills Beauty College and has been working as a cosmetologist for 17 years.
Lacee started dancing again at the age of 29 and began teaching in 2014. She has been teaching at Barefoot dance studio for the past 7 years and expanded her teaching for a year to Phillip and Wall, SD. Lacee has spent many summers dancing and assisting with several different dance productions. She danced in two different “Flutter Production” performances and also spent a week helping with a dance performance with the Barefoot Dance Team and the kids from “Lifescape” children’s hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. To further her knowledge of teaching dance Lacee spent a summer in Boston, MA to attend a “Bill Evan’s” teacher’s intensive. Lacee has also been to many dance Network conference’s and frequent ballet and modern classes over the past 10 years.
