Supply shop for fiber folk. Wild Hand is a community that believes in the magic of fiber craft: to Nestled in Philadelphia’s Mt.

Airy neighborhood, we offer materials, education, and community to encourage curiosity for fiber craft: weaving, crochet, knitting, felting, spinning, dyeing, knotting, stitching, fleece processing, and more! We believe that the wellbeing of our fiber community — including the people, land, and animals that create the supplies we sell — is more important than anything else. With that in mind, we carefully select the supplies we carry and promote.

Meet JESSICA!! Jessica is a long-time customer one of our newest team members and you'll see her in the shop on weekends and evenings. We are so very happy to have her on the team! Jessica moved to Mt. Airy 7 years ago and loves all the magic and community that Mt. Airy has to offer. Her grandmother taught her to knit at a young age, though it didn’t stick. 15 years ago, Jessica re-learned the basics of knitting and hasn’t looked back since. She enjoys sewing and weaving as well, though knitting is her true love. Her favorite part about working at Wild Hand is helping beginners, and see their excitement as it all comes together.

NEW!!! We are over-the-moon to welcome to the shop! Reshma has created the dreamiest (and very Wild Hand;) hand-dyed colorways and we are beyond delighted to introduce her Merino/Cashmere sock yarn to the shop.⁠

Reshma is the dyer and owner behind Hello Lavender; a Chicago-based yarny business. Reshma is a knitter, crocheter, polymer clay artist, and indie fiber / yarn dyer.⁠

Meet YOLANDA!! has been on team Wild Hand since before we opened our doors in 2019. She is our Manager and leader of oh-so-many things; the heart of Wild Hand. With over 40+ years of experience as a maker, Yolanda is known for her creative handmade knitted and crocheted accessories. She enjoys sharing her creative passion through teaching (at Wild Hand and other places!) and coaching. Yolanda resides in Philadelphia.

It's been awhile since we introduced y'all to team Wild Hand and we have a few new team members helping keep things keeping on. Meet Annie, Jessica, Yolanda, Ingrid, Gina, Carlie, and Liz. We are the folks answering you calls and emails, supporting or project planning, hanging out at Fiber Folk Night, and getting your orders out in the mail. This is truly the dream team; Wild Hand is what it is because of each and every one of these amazing, crafty, kind, humans. Keep an eye out for introductions over the coming month and stop by to say hi to our new team members!

We just received a restock of the dreamiest hand-dyed colorways on Priestess & Maiden. We love Ritual Dyes and especially love Maiden for socks (and especially love making socks this time of year;).

Just restocked in oh-so-many colors! This beautiful, versatile, 100% unmercerized cotton from the one and only Maurice Brassard is well known for being soft, absorbent, and having a matte finish, making it a favorite for weaving items like dishtowels, placemats, and baby blankets, among many other things! This lovely 8/2 cotton comes in oh-so-many colors of 1/2 lb. cones (1680 yards).
