🚨 ROCK BOTTOM RIDGE PACK — CALL TO ACTION 🚨
FYI: Finn & Buster are in Reading, PA.
Pack… we need you. And we need you LOUD.
This is one of those moments where we show exactly who we are.
A son is grieving the sudden loss of his father…from across the world. He’s serving in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, and while he’s trying to process that kind of loss… he’s also carrying the weight of what happens next to his dad’s dogs.
Not just dogs. His dad’s heart.
These two were his father’s everything!! His routine, his comfort, his purpose. And now they’re standing in the middle of a loss they don’t understand, waiting for someone to step in and choose them again.
Here’s where it hits harder…
They were both rescues.
Which means going back to a shelter is not an option. Period.
And there’s one non-negotiable:
They stay together. They are bonded. They are each other’s stability in the middle of this chaos.
So this isn’t just a “does anyone want a dog?” post.
This is a show up for someone who can’t be here right now moment.
This is a protect what his father loved most moment.
This is a Pack, do what we do best moment.
If you can open your home, or know someone who can, read the full post below.
If you can’t, then share it like it matters… because it does.
Let’s take this off his shoulders.
Let’s make sure those dogs land exactly where they’re meant to be.
Pack… move. 💛
Here is the son’s (Daniel) original post w/the info. Our Love monster mommy has already been messaging with him this morning.
If the Love Monster could financially do it, we would take them..🥺 (listen she was pretty serious about this. We had to talk her out of doing “Only PAWS” for the extra cash to be able to afford these two because she was - IS - that serious!😳 we’d like to take this opportunity to remind you her right paw is still in a boot and nobody wants to see a Frankenfoot! )
We would also like to add that if you are able to open up your home to these two, forever, please know that it would mean the world to Mr. Daniel if he could just visit with these babies when he’s back in the states… those of you that understand, understand.
Mr. Daniel’s Post:
A post I never thought I would have to make 😕 and a very difficult one to say the least. My dad unexpectedly passed away about a month. He leaves behind two dogs-A German Shepherd and a Husky mix. If you knew my dad, his passion were his dogs. A simply fondness and pure love he had for them all. I am unable to take them due to having four Shepherds of my own and my brother is station in Germany. However, we both agreed, we would not take them to the shelter since that is where my dad rescued them from. We would like to find them a perfect match family that they can call home..The two rules we have and ask is that they go together, due to their bond and trauma that they endured and if we can keep in touch as they embark on this new journey.
Enduke now Finn is a 75pound, tall, four year old, neutered, UTD on shots, microchipped, negative for heartworm, German Shepherd. My dad rescued him from the Human Society of Reading about a year ago. It was said he was surrendered when his owners could no longer care for him due to welcoming another child. He has a very calming demeanor. Just likes to sit back and enjoy everything around him. Besides liking to go outside, he LOVES playing fetch, and always has a ball in his mouth kind of like his security blanket. He gets excited when he sees the leash, but quickly relaxes about a block in. Knows basic commands. He has lived with cats before and wanted to play with them, but nothing since adopting him a year ago. He has also lived with kids, but was told he can be “jumpy” due to his size. He has not lived with other dogs until now. He is more on the reserve side, but loves to cuddle!
Frankie now Buster is a 45pound, petite, 1.5 year old, neutered, UTD on shots, microchipped, negative for heartworm, light blue eyes, Husky mix. My dad rescued him from Furry Friends of the panhandle rescue in Florida about six months ago. He does have puppy manners-Jumping, nibbling, getting a hold of shoes, and causing chaos by getting Finn whined up. He takes his zoomies very serious and does them multiple times a day. He gets excited for the leash and quickly relaxes about a block in. He plays with the ball, runs around and patrols the perimeter of the yard. He is a complete mush ball and loves to cuddle and give kisses.
These two balance one another out with not only their size, but also their personality. They do sometimes fight like brothers, but nothing has been overly aggressive and quickly resolves in a few seconds. There is no food and or toy aggression between the two. Both have gone to the vet within the last two weeks for standard treatment/shots. Paperwork will be provided. Currently on Proplan sensitive skin, OTC joint medication, and OTC probiotic. Any questions, let me know!
