We’re happy to celebrate Women’s History Month with Kendall Martinez!!

Miss Kendall Martinez-Wright is the Government Relations & Policy Associate at Treatment Action Group. Kendall collaborates with the HIV, TB, and HCV teams within the organization on federal legislative priorities as well as works with governmental and non-governmental entities regarding the underlying diseases. In the past, Kendall was a statewide legislative strategist and community organizer in Missouri, with main focuses being human rights, public health, and criminal justice reform. Kendall enjoys her long walks while listening to some good Neo-Soul.

Andrea Jenkins is the first African American, openly transgender woman elected to public office in the United States. Andrea is a politician, poet, activist, and community historian! She holds a master’s degree in Community Development from Southern New Hampshire University, a MFA in Creative Writing from Hamline University and a Bachelor’s Degrees in Human Services from Metropolitan State University. She is a nationally and internationally recognized writer and artist, a 2011 Bush Fellow to advance the work of transgender inclusion, and the recipient of numerous awards and fellowship.

Cheryl Dunye is a Producer, Director, Writer and Actor. She’s best known for her seminal film, Watermelon Woman, an innovative depiction of Black women in cinema. Dunye has put multiple films under her belt. Most of them do the work that Hollywood hasn’t: putting Black women and q***r and trans people in leading roles. She’s also worked on TV shows, directing episodes of Lovecraft Country, Queen Sugar and Bridgeton, to name a few! We solute you and all your work you have done for our community 🏳️‍🌈

“Golden: Black Boy Joy Conceptualized” a theater piece currently in production by K&B Productions. Is a love letter to all black men. It is a play which aspires to show the full range of black male emotion, and most importantly black male joy and how to attain it.”
