The Village of Arts and Humanities is a 38-year-old arts and community revitalization organization rooted in Philadelphia's deeply disinvested Fairhill-Hartranft neighborhood. It’s almost time for our Ile Ife Creative Apprenticeship SUMMER YOUTH SHOWCASE! 🔅

Join us on Friday, August 14th, from 5-7 PM as we celebrate the talents, creativity, and growth of our young artists. 🎨✨

Experience an evening of live Performances featuring dance, theatre, music production, vocal expression, and fashion design ; alongside our Creative Marketplace, showcasing apprentice work in Philly Earth farm, natural hair care, photography, clay + ceramics, and digital design.

What a day! 🎶 Our Vocal Arrangement apprentices took the stage at the and showed everyone what happens when young voices get the chance to lead. Shout out to Ms. Maya and Ms. Journae for being the greatest Teaching Artists and to our apprentices for such an amazing performance! Thank you to for the invite and to everyone who came out to support Philly's youth! We are so proud. 💛

Nearly 40 years ago, Arthur Hall opened the doors to what, over the years, would become a cultural sanctuary and Black sacred ground.

The culture and work that were cultivated in that building on Germantown Avenue gave birth to the Ile Ife Black Humanitarian Center. Hall was joined by collaborators such as Lily Yeh, Big Man, JoJo, and many others to carry forward his vision, evolving Ile Ife into the creative campus we now know as The Village of Arts & Humanities.
Rooted Futures supports our work to build upon the legacy of the Village through
our Youth Leadership Program, Philly Earth Farm, and our Community Initiatives.
