This spectacular piece is a maniacal, surreal satire starring famous Bens from throughout American history, from Ben Franklin to Ben Affleck. Thrown together on a film set with the goal of making a movie about the John Gast painting American Progress, the Bens wrestle with identity, fame, and the versions of American identity that life within each of us. The play surrounds the audience with a panoply of different offerings from the different Bens. Will Ben Affleck be able to finish his movie without his star, Ben Franklin? Will Ben Vereen dance his way out of danger? Will Benedict Arnold clear his name? And will Benito Antonio Ocasio Cortez (Bad Bunny) finally write the song to bring us together? The Bens begin to wonder: can they rewrite history? Or should they just... run away

Using drag, choreography, pastiche, and an absurd original script, some of Philly's favorite performers craft a spectacle that tears apart the underlying assumptions about American Progress.

A Pulitzer Prize winner from celebrated playwright Suzan-Lori Parks, helmed by acclaimed director Amina Robinson, Topdog/Underdog is a darkly comic fable of brotherly love. The play tells the story of siblings Lincoln and Booth, whose names, given to them as a joke, foretell a lifetime of deep-seated rivalry and resentment. Haunted by their own past and the weight of their namesakes, the two men must confront their future in a story that takes a searing look at manhood and family identity. Company Artist Akeem Davis stars in this production alongside Philadelphia-based actor George McGriff.. Topdog/Underdog is co-produced with Arden Theatre Company.

Seemingly happy couple Janus and Troy host their first adults-only dinner party since having a child, but the sophisticated night that they had hoped for takes a startling turn. In this hilarious and chaotic farcical romp, these ""mature"" adults devolve into the Big Babies that they truly are.

Big Babies is written by Jonathan Larson Grant Finalists Kate Brennan and David Lee White (known together as Brennan & White). The show is directed by Deborah Lynn Meier and is produced by Pier Players' Artistic Director Chelsea Cylinder. This production marks Pier Players' third collaboration with David Lee White, who also wrote Etiquette and the book for The Angry Grammarian, and second collaboration with Deborah Lynn Meier, who directed their production of Ink & Paint.
