MXN Music Exchange Network: How the Split Sheet Works — You Own Your Song. Period. 💯
Let’s talk business, because trust is built on clarity. The AC Compilation Album is about breaking local talent, not taking from it.
You own your masters. MXN is not buying your song, signing you, or claiming publishing. Artists retain 100% ownership of their original recordings and compositions. What you’re giving us is a non-exclusive license — permission to include your track on this one compilation album and distribute it. You can still sell your song, put it on your own album, license it elsewhere, or blow up tomorrow. It’s yours.
So what’s a split sheet?
A split sheet is a legal agreement that says who gets paid what when money comes in from the album. Before release, every artist on a selected track signs one. It documents:
1. Revenue splits — What % of the compilation’s net revenue goes to each song. If your track is 1 of 12, you start with an equal share of the song pool, adjusted if there are features/producers.
2. Contributor breakdown — If you wrote with others, the sheet lists everyone’s % on your track.
3. Payments — When DSPs, sales, or licensing pay out, we distribute quarterly to each participant based on their %.
Why this matters for AC:
Too many local artists get burned by “exposure” deals. Not here. MXN + ACMAB are covering pro mastering in Philly, distribution, and promo. Our goal is to create real revenue upside and real momentum. If the album charts, syncs, or goes viral, everyone eats.
This compilation exists to break local talent — not collect catalogs. We’re putting AC’s full sound on record, from hip-hop to Latin to rock, and making sure the artists get their %.
No fine print. No ownership grab. Just unity, elevation, and business done right.
Submit your song. Keep your rights. Get your percentage.
