You had to be there. Red light in the lower level.

absolutely killed her set at Uptown Open Mic inside The AMF House.

Bars. Presence. Control of the room.

Meanwhile upstairs?
Live DJ. Dance floor active. Whole different energy.

Two floors.
Two vibes.
One ecosystem.

That was the magic.

You could catch a raw performance downstairs…
then walk upstairs into a full party without ever leaving the building.

Not just an open mic.
Not just a party.
Creative infrastructure in motion.

If you were there that night, tag yourself.
If you’ve got footage from either floor, post it and invite us as collaborator.

We’re archiving the legacy properly now.

Blizzard outside.
Snow everywhere.
City shut down.

Inside The AMF House?

Karaoke night.
Full energy. You had to be there.
Grown men singing their hearts out to “All My Life” by K-Ci & JoJo.

That’s what made it different.

Rain.
Snow.
Storms.
Didn’t matter.

The doors were open.
The community showed up.
And the vibes were undefeated.

Moments like this remind you it was never just about the stage.

It was about joy.
Brotherhood.
Release.
Safe space.

If you were there during the blizzard nights, tag yourself.

We’re archiving everything properly now.

You had to be there. The AMF House was Mel Slim’s vision since 2012. boujetto.priestess

As a starving artist, she didn’t ask for opportunity.
She imagined a space where creatives in Uptown could work, grow, connect, and build on their own terms.

No gatekeepers.
No waiting list.
No permission needed.

And we did that. Plus more.

From storefront to stage.
From cyphers to live bands.
From local artists to international reach.

This clip is Mel Slim herself — covering Erykah Badu — inside the very space she helped bring to life.

Founder. Artist. Builder.

That’s what made The AMF House different.

It wasn’t just managed.
It was imagined.

Vision → Infrastructure → Legacy.

If you were part of that era, drop a memory below.

We’re documenting it properly now.

You had to be there. Lower level of The AMF House.

The Queens were outside heavy that night.
Energy different when the room is balanced and alive.

And on stage — .fa.tha.people doing what he does.

That’s what made it special.

Upstairs might’ve been moving.
But downstairs?
Pure culture.

Every week the crowd shifted.
New faces. New voices. New moments.

It wasn’t just performances.
It was presence.

If you were in the building that night, tag yourself.
If you caught footage, post it and invite us as collaborator.

Uptown Open Mic wasn’t built by one person — it was built by a community.
But I’m proud to say… I was there from day one helping create a stage where artists could be raw, fearless, and fully themselves.

Over 5+ years at The AMF House, we watched 10,000+ artists from 35 states and 40+ countries step into their voice.
Some touched a mic for the first time.
Some found their tribe.
Some changed their entire life direction on that stage.

This carousel is just a small piece of the talent, the energy, and the family that made Uptown what it was.

To every artist in these photos — and the thousands more not pictured — thank you for trusting the vision and bringing the magic every week. You are the legacy.

Now we’re going back into the archives and creating a documentary series about what Uptown meant and where everyone is now.

👉 If you performed, attended, volunteered, filmed, or supported — we want your story.
👉 Got old footage or photos? Send them our way.
👉 Want to be interviewed for the documentary? DM us or comment “UPTOWN”.

This isn’t just a throwback.
This is the beginning of the next chapter. 🎤

2018.

Frequent guests talking about their experience at The AMF House.

What’s wild?

The same things they said then…
people were still saying in 2022.

Consistency.
Energy.
Opportunity.
Safe space.
Community.

When the message doesn’t change over the years, that means it wasn’t marketing.

It was real.

Built with intention.
Sustained by culture.
Powered by the people.

All love.

If you ever left a review, shot a testimonial, or told someone about The AMF House — we appreciate you more than you know.

Legacy isn’t loud.
It’s proven.

You Had to be There.
Two floors.
Multiple DJs.
Full building activated.

This wasn’t just a venue.
It was infrastructure.

Someone rented out the entire space and turned it into a multi-DJ dance experience — upstairs and downstairs both moving. This clip is from the lower level.

Different crowds.
Different sounds.
One ecosystem.

We may not know the DJ in this clip — if you recognize them, tag them so proper credit can be given.

This is what happens when you build a creative institution that artists trust.

The AMF storefront.
The performances.
The cyphers.
The rentals.
The culture.

All documented now.

If you hosted something at The AMF House, post your footage and tag us or invite us as collaborator. Let’s archive this properly.

The event was over.

Crowd gone.
Lights lower.
Probably 2 or 3AM.

And 17 of us still in the lower level of The AMF House.

Artists. Entrepreneurs. Creatives.

The stage did its job earlier.
But this — this was the real work.

Post-event conversations.
New collaborations forming.
Business ideas being built.
Brotherhood being solidified.

People came for the open mic.
But they stayed for the ecosystem.

This is what made it different.

It wasn’t just a venue.
It was a safe space for men to build without ego, without politics, without limits.

If you were in that room, tag yourself.
If you built something from nights like this, tell the story.

We’re archiving the culture properly now.

Before the stages.
Before the cyphers.
Before the thousands of performances.

There was a storefront.

AMF Creatives Hub was open every day.
Print shop in the building.
Merch made in-house.
Infrastructure before hype.

This clip is monumental.

The first AMF Creatives shirt ever printed.
Posted the same day.
Purchased the same day by .

He walked in wearing one shirt…
and walked out wearing the brand.

That’s not fashion.
That’s belief.

This is what building culture looks like when it’s real.
Not rented. Not borrowed. Built.

From storefront to stage to institution.

Archive activation continues.

If you have AMF footage, history, photos — send it.
If you wore the brand, tag yourself.
If you were there, tell the story.

We’re documenting everything properly now.

Philly youth legend absolutely kills his set at Uptown Open Mic inside the AMF House 🔥

Confidence. Bars. Presence beyond his years.

This is what the platform was built for — giving the next generation a real stage, real crowd, real reps. Not waiting for permission. Not waiting for validation.

Youth voices mattered here. And when they stepped up, the room felt it.

🎬 We’re bringing the archive back and documenting the full era.
