Taji Ra'oof Nahl:
Philadelphia based, interdisciplinary artist who delves social commentary by casting historical investigation through contemporary practice and formats. He deploys abstract vocabularies, using minimalist, conceptual and futurist approaches to create elegant, culturally evocative work: installations, video, performance, sculpture, soundscapes and painting. He connects histor
y with a sense of inspiration, and renders new insights through an aesthetic experience of profound wonder. Ultimately his work uses a conceptual engagement to pose very challenging questions about the legacies, conditions and conduct which distort and confound spiritual transformation. His work has been shown at The Italian Palace - Tangier Morocco͵ The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Fisher Brooks Galley and the Averill and Bernard Leviton Gallery at Columbia College of Chicago.
