Next Friday June 12th, we present The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time at The Stagecrafters in Chestnut Hill; running until June 28th.
This award-winning drama premiered at London’s Royal National Theatre in 2012; winning the Olivier Award in 2013 for Best New Play and five Tony Awards in 2015 including Best Play and Best Actor.
In a snapshot: Christopher Boone is a mathematically talented teen who knows every prime number up to 7,057, detests the color yellow, and prefers the company of animals over humans. His mind allows him to see the world in a way that is detailed, logical, and deeply (sometimes uncomfortably) honest.
When Christopher (L Bryce Welborn) discovers that his neighbor’s dog Wellington has been killed, he decides that he must be the detective who solves the murder. This decision leads to discoveries that turn his world upside down, drawing him beyond the boundaries of his carefully ordered life and into an unfamiliar, overwhelming world. At its heart, this powerful play is a celebration of courage, curiosity, and what it means to navigate a world that isn’t always designed with everyone in mind.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, adapted for stage by Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon’s popular novel, is our last show before we gear up for our 2026-2027 season.
