Fire Quartz gets its fiery red, orange & golden flashes from iron inclusions naturally trapped inside the quartz — basically, Earth decided regular clear quartz needed a little extra ✨PIZAZZ ✨. 🔥

Every piece has its own completely different patterns, which is why I can stare at these forever🙌 look at the rainbow 🌈 🥰

We’re OPEN today 2–7! 🖤 And if you’ve ever looked at an ammonite and thought “okay but WHAT actually is this thing?”…

🐚 Ammonites are FOSSILS of extinct ocean animals * not crystals! They were marine mollusks related to modern-day squid, octopus & cuttlefish.

🌀 That perfect spiral was their actual shell, made up of separate chambers. As the ammonite grew, it added new chambers and could control gas inside them to help with buoyancy in the water.

The black ammonite in today’s photo is just one of the insanely cool pieces you can find hiding around the shop.

ALRIGHT I GOT A LONG ONE HERE, buckle up!!

✋ You’re not experiencing life to its full potential if you never stop to see how absolutely BRILLIANT this Earth is. 🌎✨

We go about our everyday lives seeing the same streets, the same buildings, the same things… especially us Philly people. Cottman, Rising Sun, Oxford.. same old thing.. EVERYDAY.

Then you walk in here and see the colors, patterns, shapes and formations that actually come out of this Earth and it’s like… HOW?!🤯

Some of these things seriously don’t look real.

And here’s a fun fact that might surprise you: I’m a Christian, I own a crystal shop, and I personally don’t believe crystals have special powers.

❤️🫶🏻 I just LOVE them. I love their beauty. I love learning about them. I love looking at something so fascinating and realizing it came from the Earth.

But that’s my personal belief — and one of my favorite things about this shop is that everyone experiences crystals differently. 🙌

Some people believe deeply in their energy and properties. Some love the meanings associated with them. Some collect them. Some decorate with them. Some come in knowing absolutely NOTHING and just want to look around.

Every single one of those people belongs here. ❤️

You don’t have to believe what I believe, and I don’t have to believe what you believe for us to appreciate the same beautiful thing. I love how many different walks of life come thru the door, I learn SO much from our customers! We get kids who are obsessed with rocks … to professionals who use crystals in healing practices, to men who just got off of work. It’s SO cool.

I think sometimes crystal shops get put into this little box of who they’re “for.”

I want Philly’s Hidden Gem to be the opposite of that.

Christian? Come in.
Spiritual? Come in.
Collector? Come in.
Just think shiny rocks are cool? PLEASE come in. 😌
