It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of a part of the TBT family, Paul McNair. Paul was a strong force in our production of Martin Sherman's BENT in 2014 as Uncle Freddie. Paul lent his talents to our Fringe production and received many accolades from local press. The loss of Paul will most certainly leave a hole in the theatrical community of Philadelphia and our thoughts go out to Paul's family and friends.

To quote BENT, "It's my secret. And I have a signal. No one knows it. When I rub my left eyebrow at you, like this...it means I love you. Bet you didn't know that. I can even do it in front of the guards. No one knows. It's my secret."

It was never a secret. We love you, Paul. You'll be missed greatly. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

Paul of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia passed away peacefully at his home on January 17, 2016 after two challenging years living with ALS. Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Emma Sabin, and son, Gavin McNair of Chestnut Hill; brother Mark of Craddockville, VA and sister Betsy of Santa Cruz, CA; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and family around the world.

Truth Be Told Productions is now taking submissions for its Board of Directors beginning with a 2017 term. Submissions from all skill sets (business, arts, education, etc) are encouraged.

Responsibilities include:

Leadership, governance and oversight
-Serving as a trusted advisor to the Producing Artistic Director as he develops and implements Truth Be Told's strategic plan
-Approving Truth Be Told’s annual budget, reports, and material business decisions
-Assisting the Producing Artistic Director and board president in identifying and recruiting other Board Members
-Serving on committees and taking on special assignments
-Ensuring Truth Be Told’s commitment to a diverse board and staff that reflects the communities it serves

Fundraising
-Each Board Member is responsible for generating a minimum fundraising amount for each year of board membership

Board terms/participation
-Board Members will serve a one-year term (September to August) and will continue to be eligible for re-appointment to additional terms on an annual basis
-Board meetings will be held quarterly and special event planning meetings will be held in coordination with full board meetings

Qualifications
Board candidates should be motivated, well-connected and have the ability to offer perspective as it applies to fundraising, production and business continuity.

Interested parties should submit a resume and cover letter to [email protected]. These new board members will have a hand in choosing our upcoming season and will assist in the full restructuring of our organization.

"A New Brain" has been postponed to our 2017 Season

As many of you are aware, the blackbox theaters of Philadelphia have been closing down left and right. We had originally secured a space which has been forced to close its doors and we have diligently been seeking a new home for our production of A New Brain. Unfortunately, we have not found another suitable space and do not want to simply settle for a space.

That said, we have decided to postpone our production of A New Brain until our 2017 season which will give us time to revisit our performance venue options with a clean slate.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused any of you and we hope that you will consider auditioning for us in the future.

Again, we apologize and we hope to see out at auditions for "Love, Valour, Compassion" this Fall or a show in our 2017 season.

He still finds solace in his time playing piano, but he doesn't talk to the other kids much. He's not really sure why they don't talk to him after what happened. I mean, she's still a bit of a drama queen (President and founder of the one-person drama club) and she still seems to follow her brother's friends around like a lost puppy.
