Just one more week until “No Other Place to Go” opens at InLiquid Gallery!

This exhibition, guest curated by Katie Tackman (KT Butterfield), brings together five artists who use photography to document environmental change, confront ecological loss and spark conversations about the realities of changing climate.

This exhibition is curated in conjunction with the 20/20 Photo Festival (20/20 Photo Festival), a celebration of photography that brings together the Philadelphia photo community through city-wide exhibitions, educational programming, and a book fair.

The exhibition is on view September 4 - October 17 at InLiquid Gallery.

Photo Installation

“Nature, Assembled” is part of an ongoing series of imagined icebergs photographed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey mall parking lots. Inspired by increasingly rare winter snow piles, these ordinary remnants become stand-ins for distant icebergs shaped by climate change. Displayed alongside vegetation, stones, and museum-like vitrines, the photograph shifts from landscape to specimen, prompting viewers to consider how our understanding of nature is constructed through photography, collecting, preservation, and display.

Richard Boutwell’s ongoing series Reclamation: Deadpool examines the dramatic recession of Lake Mead, the nation’s largest reservoir, as a visible consequence of decades-long megadrought, climate change, and sustained human overuse. Deadpool uses the bathtub ring, the 160’-180’ tall white mineral deposit left by the declining lake elevation, as a symbol for the inescapable reality of the accelerating impacts of climate change. Through large-scale photographs and custom maps generated from remote sensing imagery and elevation data, Boutwell connects historical policy decisions to present-day consequences, transforming scientific information into stark visual evidence of a water system under stress—one that continues to sustain millions even as

Raymond Carballada (Raymond Carballada Photography) is a fine art photographer whose work focuses on light, structure, and the quiet order found in both natural and built environments. Having limited vision in one eye has sharpened his sensitivity to form and light, qualities that run through his work.

Thomas W. Moore (Tom Moore) explores how interior experience becomes visible through the relationship between the male figure, surrounding environments, and material surfaces. He examines how identity and perception emerge through these relationships and the structures that contain them.

In the her series, “What Remains,” Krista Svalbonas (Krista Svalbonas) explores ideas of home and dislocation, and the impact of architecture on human psychology. Her work is informed by her Latvian/Lithuanian heritage, places where cultural architecture was demolished and replaced by Soviet buildings.

Peggy Washburn (Peggy Washburn) converts a familiar chaos into something relatively tidy through layers of acrylic, graphite, ink, pigment and wax. Her work in this series is about the inner conflict that comes with embracing imperfection, while simultaneously resisting what she cannot accept.

"A Glimpse Elsewhere" opens this friday at The National Old City Apartments!

"A Glimpse Elsewhere" brings together artists Elisa Abeloff () and Nanci Hersh (), reminiscing about the past and understanding alternative perspectives in such fleeting moments. Each artist uses gestural patterns in their work, creating an airy atmosphere and feeling of retrospection. In Elisa’s work, we see flashes of natural scenes that are borderline abstract, visualizing distant memories. Similarly, Nanci uses imagery of water and reflections to represent how our momental perspective can change over time.

A reception for this exhibition will be held on Friday, October 2 from 6 – 8 pm - RSVP link in bio!

We’re excited to announce our upcoming exhibition “No Other Place to Go,” opening September 4 at InLiquid Gallery. Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, September 10 from 6 – 9 pm!

Curated in collaboration with Katie Tackman (KT Butterfield), “No Other Place to Go” is an exhibition bringing together five artists who use photography to document environmental change, confront ecological loss and spark conversations about the realities of changing climate.

Featuring works by Anita Allyn (Anita Allyn), Richard Boutwell (Richard Boutwell), Laura Krasnow (Laura Krasnow), Kaitlin Pomerantz (Kaitlin Pomerantz ~ KP) and Emma Ressel (Emma Ressel), “No Other Place to Go” considers photography as both evidence and expression. Through images informed by scientific data, historical records, disappearing landscapes and shifting ecosystems, the artists examine not only what is changing, but how climate change affects memory, perception and our relationship to the natural world.

Together, the artists’ works demonstrate how evidence and emotion can operate as complementary forms of knowledge, helping audiences understand environmental realities not only through facts and data, but through lived experience.

This exhibition is curated in conjunction with the 20/20 Photo Festival (20/20 Photo Festival), a celebration of photography that brings together the Philadelphia photo community through city-wide exhibitions, educational programming, and a book fair.

“Intrinsic Archetypes” is now on view at Courtyard by Marriott south at The Navy Yard (CourtyardMarriottNavyYard)

“Intrinsic Archetypes” refers to the universal patterns that reside in the natural world and how we can transform them into unique figures. This exhibition brings together artists Gregory Brellochs (Greg Brellochs) and Jonathan Stemler to understand their one of a kind archetypes, inspired from elements of organic matter and earthly materials. In Gregory’s illustrations, we are presented with familiar concepts of biology that leave the viewer to examine and ponder on the detailed complexing of these unknown organisms. In Jonathan’s sculpture, they provide a more playful approach, combining stone and wood to create these insightful abstract figures that create a visual conversation with each other.
