Congratulations to the Pratt Institute Class of 2026 ! What a wonderful commencement ceremony on Tuesday at Radio City Music Hall. The speech by the David Remnick , the editor of New Yorker magazine was honest and, well, very well written and spoken.

“This society, or any society, is going to thrive, it demands, it cries out for citizens of imagination and creativity. The society that does not encourage and cultivate its individual and collective imagination is an empty society, a sterile society. The irony is that society does not reward its creative members the way they do hedge fund managers, it cannot survive without them. It cannot survive without you!”

Congratulations to architects, designers, artists, writers! You have a lot of work to do!

For the love of birds! Don’t take them for granted!

A very special place to see wonderful artworks of birds and bird related themes at Audubon Center in Philadelphia area. Artists Deirdre Murphy and Yvonne Love show their artworks in historic house where John James Audubon moved from France in 1803! Yes, the house is still standing and it is filled with interesting artifacts and artworks!

When you visit, please don’t try to steal the valuable John James Audubon’s books like the infamous students from Kentucky tried to do about twenty years ago!

Elegant and warm Elizabeth Peyton with her first solo exhibition at David Zwirner in NYC. Such joy to be able to really look at the small paintings and have all the space to appreciate their beauty. And no, you can’t pose in front of them;) These paintings are for looking and loving in real life.

Congratulations to New Museum on reopening to the public after two years of renovations. It has a bit of everything for everyone (from El Lissitzky to Giacometti to Maria Lassnig to Cao Fei), albeit sometimes in rather small oversaturated ovecurated rooms. Current exhibition “New Humans: Memories of the Future” would require several visits if you really want to make sense of the evolving definition of the “human”.

A quiet introspective art conversation with Helene Schjerfbeck at the Met Museum . You will need to walk past the quiet and dark medieval statues, then whisper your way downstairs to Seeing Silence, then embrace your mortality, and then quickly escape back to Fifth Avenue in order to feel alive!

As impressions settle after intense bombardment of the senses, some artworks linger in your mind….

1. Magical oil painting by Enrique Martinez Celaya at Art Basel art fair , Gallery Wendi Norris . Open to interpretation. Are the big wings protecting us or attacking us? Is there still an inner child within us?

2. Kinetic library installation “Library of us” by Es Devlin at Faena hotel beachfront . It is a 50-foot bookshelf with 2,500 books rotating in mirrored pool. Celebrating literature, memory and human connection (full of distractions, as is life). Full moon was a perfect companion.
