So many theater kids understand and process the world through his words. And now in his passing, we turn to them again. More to say at another time, and certainly, thanks to him, “there’s so much stuff to sing.” When we can, we’ll gather the Boozy Broadway crew, propose a toast, and attempt a tribute to and celebration of him. Until then, we’ll raise another vodka stinger to the newest giant in the sky. We’re sorry/grateful. 💔

At our last show, we played a trick or treat game about spooky musicals and celebrated the 96 years of Angela Lansbury’s life with a trivia look back at her career. What incredibly niche but ultimately entertaining games will we come up with next time? You’ll have to join us at our November 18 show to find out!!

Like many musical theater super fans, we love a strong female character ballad, with a duet being even better. Sadly, our leading ladies and were unavailable, and so in an effort to ease the audience’s disappointment, and summoned their best Emma and Alyssa for “Dance With You” from The Prom.

One week from today! Join us! (Leave your fields to flower…)

After dusting off the cobwebs last month at the open house, we are opening up with an actual evening of showtunes, trivia, and real live interaction. We’ll toast to the ladies who lunch, the girls who just watch, and anything else we can think of that justifies ordering another vodka stinger.

Today is a good day to 1) sing a song about New York City, 2) introduce our sloppy and distracting but very cute assistant pianist, and 3) share that we are overjoyed to be reopening Plays and Players tomorrow for our first in-person event in…800 days!!! Vaccinated theater members are invited to the party, and we’re the entertainment! Hopefully more live or hybrid shows to follow, but we’re taking it one day at a time. For now, cheers to singing again, to celebrating theater and community, and to our favorite megalopolis 100 miles to the north. We can’t wait to see you again.
