Orbit Art Gallery Orbit Art Gallery is chock full of various fine art forms both local and global. After 15 years in Center City, we moved to a larger space in Manayunk.

Tucked away sharing a doorway with the canal house leasing office next to Winnie's LeBus, this gallery is full of hidden treasures for you to explore. Orbit Gallery began in 1981 as a small Philadelphia-based craft gallery, originally called Art a la Carte. We now have 2 locations on Main Street, and are active members of the Manayunk Development Corporation.

We just got back from NYC from the big gift show show at the Javit's Center. More about that later. I wanted to post one of Sarah Baptist's paintings that were part of the show and reception we held her for Sarah this summer. We have a strong belief in Sarah's talent and we'll keep a permanent collection of her work for sale here at Orbit Gallery ( 4312 Main Street.) Stop by and check out all of Sarah's paintings. We've been doing some pre Plein on Main prepping and we're looking forward to having new work from regional power house Sarah Baptist. Sarah, although she's too modest to say, is like having our own Utrillo. Sarah turns mundane street scenes into impressionistic explorations that reflect both the excitement and sadness of city life. Small business Saturday is fast approaching and we're looking forward to a wonderful day and an awesome turn out. Orbit will be hosting our good friend, Main Street alum and nationally known photographer Geri DiBiase. Geri will be here with a collection of her striking photographs. We'll also exhibit Geri's Christmas ornaments which she will sign for anyone who purchases one. Pictured below is an image from Geri's brand new ornament which has our own Philadelphi Eagles logo. So stop by Orbit Gallery on 4312 Main Street in beautiful downtown Manayunk on 11/25 for a great day of art and good food provided by Winnie's Restaurant !!!

We met Sarah Baptist through the plein air event we produced this past June 1st for the Street. We loved her work so much we brought her into the cavalcade of artists whom we represent at Orbit. Tomorrow night Sarah will be in front of the gallery painting plein air. Come by and talk with her and watch her create an amazing piece in real time. Orbit Gallery is at 4312 Main Street in beautiful down town Manayunk. Sarah will be here from between 5:30 PM and 7:30 P.M. tomorrow night!

Each year we spend about 6 hours doing a Christmas window. Sandy works with maybe10 square feet to create a magical and tasteful display of all the cool things we carry at Orbit. "So this is Christmas...and what have you done?" An iconic lyric by John Lennon almost 50 years ago. In response Orbit is doing lots of great things for the holidays. We were back on the road this summer and we ran across lots of wonderful new artists. Pictured below are micro glass Critters by WGK Glass. These critters each sell for $6.00 and are the most accurate miniatures we've ever seen. This print is based on a painting of Nick Santoleri's called "The "S Bridge." There have been a number of bridges between Manayunk and what back in the day was called West Manayunk. The S bridge was then replaced by the famous Spanish arched bridge that currently spans the Schuylkill. There were concerns that the S bridge wasn't able to handle the large sized trains the Pennsylvania RR was running across it. The bridge had also sustained minor damage during a series of earlier floods. The new bridge we all know and love opened in 1918 and was decommissioned in the late1970s. The S Bridge print is available at Orbit Gallery in 2 sizes that sell for $40 and $100 respectively!
