Ollin Yoliztli Calmecac invites artists to submit works for an exhibition showcasing Indigenous art
from the Americas. Titled “The meeting of the Condor and the Eagle,” this call seeks pieces that
celebrate the diversity of Indigenous peoples across the continent—whether they reside in
Philadelphia or the Delaware Valley—by preserving their traditions, culture, rituals, social and
ceremonial practices, healing methods, and aesthetic expressions. The exhibit aims to highlight
their heritage and cosmological values.
Accepted works include paintings, photographs, textiles, ceramics, carvings, clothing, ceremonial
objects, and musical instruments, all of which will be displayed. Videos (up to 3 minutes) and
everyday objects such as kitchen utensils, toys, or protective items may also be submitted. The
goal is to showcase Indigenous cultures beyond common perceptions, emphasizing their depth
and richness. The exhibition seeks to link visitors, artists, and ceremonies, fostering appreciation
and a sense of unity.
Thirteen artists will be chosen, each receiving a $200 USD stipend.
The exhibition will be held at Bartrams Gardens from October 9 to November 21, 2026.
