MEET THE DANCERS: KRISTEN SMITH

Kristen Smith attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia earning a BFA in dance and a minor in Musical Theater. She continued her professional career dancing for the Roxey Ballet Company and performing at many Regional Theaters to expand her musical repertoire. She has served as a dance captain, choreographer, director, and dance instructor in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and universities throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Her passion is to serve the Philadelphia community by nurturing the next generation of dancers and will be sharing her high energy and love of movement with Ballet X’s dance exchange program as a teaching artist for her second season this year. Kristen has been performing with Adrianna for over a decade now and she is so excited to be a part of this amazing cast!

MEET THE DANCERS: CHRISTINE SAMPSON-LINDSEY

Christine Sampson was born and raised in Swedesboro, NJ, where she began dancing since the age of 3. She began at a local studio, where she learned all dance styles. In 1997, she was accepted at the Southern New Jersey Academy of Performing Arts. In 2001,
she graduated from Rutgers University with a BFA in Dance from the Mason Gross School of the Arts. She performed in MGSA’s dance co; DanceWorks. After college, she danced for the NJ Nets Dance team in 2006-07. She has been featured in Ugly Betty, “The Other Woman,” Spike TV, Extra with Mario Lopez, Epix TV, Comcast on Demand, the Today Show, and BET. She has also done various national and international tours; The Gap, Inc. Holiday Cross Country Tour, NBA All-Star Games, NBA Europe Live, NBA China Games, WNBA London Live,In addition, Christine has performed with artists, Flo-rida, Pitbull, Kevin Rudolph, Shakira, Rhianna, Ryan Leslie, Tiffany Evans, Ludacris, B.O.B, Juicy J, and Bruno Mars. Currently, she started her own company, Rock Roulette Productions, guest teaches for the Philly Youth Festival, dance studios and adult classes all over the east coast.

MEET THE DANCERS: ADRIANNA POINDEXTER

Adrianna Poindexter is a dancer, and Emmy award-winning choreographer and producer. She earned a BA in Dance Performance with a Theatre Performance minor from Stockton University with Program Distinction, and also received training from Philadanco’s Summer Programs and Instruction & Training Program. Some of her performance credits include THE EMPIRE STRIPS BACK tour, MJ LIVE, LEGENDS IN CONCERT, and dancing as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers Dance Team.

Over the last decade, Adrianna has presented numerous pieces in various showcases in Philadelphia, and has created shows as part of multiple Philly Fringe Festivals. After presenting work for several years under no name, she formally founded a. dance theatre in 2018, and serves as their artistic director. Showcasing her versatility, she also created HOT DAMN!, a cabaret-style dance show featuring a troupe of dancers performing vaudevillian acts.

In 2021, Adrianna choreographed, directed and co-produced a concept video entitled OTHERED. for The Philadelphia Inquirer’s WILDEST DREAMS series. In 2022, she had the honor of winning a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy for a video composite that featured OTHERED.

Adrianna’s mission is to connect with audiences by creating works that document the human experience.

MEET THE DANCERS: ANTHONY MAURIELLO

Anthony Mauriello is a multi-disciplined performer, choreographer, and educator with over two decades of experience in the dance and theatre industry from South Jersey. Holding a BA in Theatre and Dance Performance from Stockton University, Anthony has choreographed for numerous theatrical productions and dance studios across the tri-state area, earning recognition for his expressive style and storytelling through movement.

He has been teaching Ballroom and Latin dance for over a decade at Society Hill Dance Academy, where he blends technical excellence with an engaging, student-centered approach. Beyond the studio and stage, Anthony is also known as Maria TopCatt, an established Draglesque performer and Emcee, who has captivated audiences on some of the most iconic stages and festivals both nationally and internationally with their bold performances and charismatic presence.
Whether in heels or ballroom shoes, Anthony brings passion, precision, and personality to every performance.
