BYO Print’s 15th Anniversary Year is a wrap! Our unspoken Sweet Sixteen - celebrated Friday night with a group exhibition - the first time we’ve exhibited together for a curated group show since before the pandemic! The Alumni Gallery at the Galleries at Moore College of Art & Design invited our founders to show in the space and what better way to use it than to showcase this amazing group of artists that have been working alongside each other for up to 16 years!

Huge thanks go out to our artists, and to the curators of this show, the intersection of Studio Artist members and Moore alumni: and huge thanks as well to the Gallery install team and Moore Staff who 100% deserve the Union they’ve asked for!

Visit the exhibition now through May 9th at Moore College of Art & Design, 1916 Race Street.

BYO Printmaking Collaborative’s 15th Anniversary year culminates with an exhibition celebrating the breadth of its current members and past collaborative works, on view in the Alumni Gallery at Moore College of Art & Design from March 21 – May 9, 2026. Co-founded in 2010 by Katie VanVliet ‘07 and Lauren Tapp (Fischer) ‘07, BYO Print opened as a shared printmaking studio in Philadelphia, with a mission to keep artists printing on their own time within a reasonable budget. Tapp and VanVliet built BYO Print with a foundational flexibility that has allowed the community to adapt and grow as new members bring with them fresh ideas and goals for their practice. Reorganized as a nonprofit in 2023, BYO Printmaking Collaborative fosters collaboration between artists, printmakers and the public by providing access to a professional printshop. BYO Print is located on the 5th floor of the Paradigm Arts Building, at 12 North 3rd Street.

This collection of works on paper, sculptures, and handmade books is curated by alumni members Claire Folkman ‘09, Kate VanVliet ‘07, Lisa Imperiale ‘09, TJ Kimber ‘15 and Rhonda Babb ‘92 and features the work of BYO’s Studio Artists as well as past collaborative and curatorial projects, featuring: Ellyn Womelsdorf, Christiane Moore, Erik Ruin, Jenn Manzella, Mike Sgier, Nicole Saltzer, Emma Foster, Bill Brookover, Jude Bigboy, Lucy Henderson, Mara Elliott, Marchelo Vera, Reece Farness, Ted Mosher, Celia Connaire and Laura Murdoch.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, March 20, 5-7pm, at The Galleries at Moore College of Art & Design.

Need some printshop sanctuary in these pensive times? We are dusting ourselves off from the new year transitions and gearing up for a strong 2026 filled with camaraderie, collaboration, and people power. Join us Monday night (pending our ability to move about the city post snowstorm) for the first Intaglio Club of the year. This program and our Second Sunday Open Hours will resume their normal schedules in February.

$40/session for full studio access, with a focus on intaglio practices including etching copperplates, printing on the presses, and drypoint collagraph with tetrapak. We share skills during Intaglio Club, but attendees should have some experience in the medium. RSVP required by DM or email through our link in bio. 5-9pm Third Mondays of the month.

We’re also happy to share that our building’s freight elevator is back in service, allowing full access to our shop for all folks! Hooray!

Public hours like these are made possible with funding from the Philadelphia Cultural Fund () and the Joseph Robert Foundation. Thank you!

Visit us this weekend during Philadelphia Open Studio Tours! We are located on the top floor of the Paradigm Arts Building, above . The gallery is open to the public as well, so you can make your way up to the fifth floor, taking in artwork on each floor. The elevator at the building is currently out of order, so the printshop is accessible only via stairs at the moment.

Meet , one of the co-founders and directors of the studio, and see hers and other members’ work on display. Kate will be running demos on the etching presses in intaglio, monotype, and relief throughout the weekend. She can answer any questions you may have about the printing processes as well as membership, upcoming events, exhibitions for members, and a special project for 2026!

Sunday’s POST coincides with our Second Sunday Open Studio hours, so feel free to book some time to print at our studio, especially if you’re considering membership at the space in the future.

See you this weekend!

We are so pleased to share that BYO Print is a 2025 Philadelphia Cultural Fund grantee!

Support from PCF allows us to continue our mission by keeping printmaking coworking space affordable and accessible. Huge thanks to the Cultural Fund for last year’s grant, which made our *big move* from Kensington to Old City go smoothly. Our new and improved space allows us to reach more Philadelphians now and in the future.

We’ve done a lot over the last year through PCF’s funding, from being able to hire professional movers and equipment handlers, to replacing outdated equipment, and making small but important safety upgrades as we rebuilt the printshop. To celebrate the studio artist members of BYO Print, we began our 15th anniversary year with a big grand opening party and an exchange portfolio celebrating our milestone.

Looking forward, funding from PCF will continue to keep our space affordable and accessible to artists and the public. We are so thankful that our funding comes 100% from local sources, and will remain a steady sanctuary for Philadelphians to work and collaborate through printmaking.

Thank you !
