Throwback, catching up to on Hagopian Arts Facebook: After sharing Wild Medicine Feature in the August issue of , I figured I'd reshare the highlight from their May issue... 🖌️🌸✨
In my studio... time softens. The hum of the world fades, replaced by the quiet rhythm of brush strokes, the scent of paint, and the feel of raw material in my hands. This space is both sanctuary and proving ground—a place where nature and memory merge on the walls. My father’s presence lingers in the way I create—in the way I trust my hands, follow instinct, and shape my reality rather than let life happen to me. I grew up immersed in that way of being, where art was more than an act; it was a form of truth, a connection to something deeper, a way of moving through the world with purpose. This is my lineage—one of creativity, of seeing, of honoring what is real.
Before I begin, I pause—touch the wall, take a breath. Here, I’ve faced doubts and the weight of everyday life, yet painting remains my meditation, my way through. Murals unfold slowly, layer by layer, over weeks and months... Each stroke is an act of presence, a study of what is already perfect—the way light filters through leaves, the intricate veins of a petal, the rhythm of flowing water. My work captures these nuances, not to alter them, but to honor them. It is in the quiet observation of these details that I find my grounding, my clarity, my place within the greater whole.
Public art breaks the boundaries of class and race, speaking a language that connects us all. It reminds us that each of us is an ecosystem, part of a greater whole. A mural does not belong to one—it belongs to the street, the community, the passerby who sees themselves reflected in color and form. Just as my father gave me the gift of creation as a way of life, I strive to give that same experience to my son—showing him that authenticity can guide us, that passion is worth following, and that art, in its purest form, is not just something we make, but something we live. This is the lineage I carry forward.

Throwback: Honored to be featured in the Autumn 2025 issue of , sharing the story and evolution of the Wild Medicine Eco Mural Project — a public art initiative that uses hand-painted murals to foster environmental awareness, cultural connection, and community engagement. The Wild Medicine Series within the Eco Mural Project focuses on local medicinal plants and their historical and cultural connections to an area.

This seven-page spread highlights the roots of my work and the collaborations that have shaped it — from early murals painted with my infant son on my back, to large-scale public installations that now live in parks, hospitals, schools, and trail systems.

Throwback: Preview of yesterday's unveiling in the Buck's County Courthouse, in Doyalstown, PA.
The creation of Bucks County: Rooted in Peace, Justice, and Community has been an extraordinary journey — one that spanned months of collaboration, creativity, and connection. From the earliest design stages, to workshops with community participants at the Courthouse, to the many long hours spent painting each detail in my studio, every step was a labor of love and dedication.
What many may not see is the full scope of what it takes to bring a mural like this to life. There is the solitude of the studio — the focused, often quiet phases of creation — the precision of the brushwork, the endurance of installation, the finishing touches, and the careful sealing that protects the piece for years to come. While much of the process requires deep personal commitment, I’m fortunate to have the support of an incredible team of assisting artists who share a dedication to integrity and fine art excellence. Their contributions are essential in helping me bring these large visions into reality.
At the heart of this work is the belief that public art is a vital force for connection. It is a universal language — it doesn’t discriminate, it belongs to everyone. Public art bridges the gaps between people, bringing us together across age, race, and class. It cultivates a shared sense of belonging and sparks the ripple effects of care and community.

buckscountygovtk you to everyone who contributed to the project! Stay tuned for more shots of the install and unveiling.

A jewel peeps up from a pattern—translucent skin as fragile as life; as delicate as balance. An amphibian tells us without words, “Heaven is anywhere one lets it stay.”

And then there’s us—of concrete and metal, plastic and wires—ambitiously tinkering, rambunctiously conquering, thumping our chests in dominant delusion, while this little jewel reminds us, “We are one organism peeping through many eyes. What you do unto me, you have done to yourself.”

~My father, Philip Hagopian

Happy birthday to my dad, a real one to the core 🧿
