Save the date!

I'm participating in the 2026 Philadelphia Open Studio Tours this October, and I'm looking forward to opening up my residency space at G-Town Radio for the weekend.

One of the things I appreciate about POST is the invitation to simply come in, look around, meet artists, spend some time with the work, and have a conversation.

That feels especially fitting for . So much of this residency is about creating opportunities for people to encounter the work, reflect, ask questions, and talk with one another.

POST gives me another opportunity to open the door.

Ten years later, is back where it began—and Germantown Info Hub is taking a closer look.

Reporter Pryce Jamison joined us for the August 8 opening reception of at G-Town Radio and traces the project from its beginnings in 2015 through its return to Germantown in 2026.

The story explores the origins of the masked portraits, the journey of the work over the past decade, and the new installations, questions, and community conversations taking shape through this four-month residency.

We’re grateful to Pryce and Germantown Info Hub for documenting this next chapter of the project with such care.

A disturbing comment appeared beneath a reel I shared after the August 8 opening reception for . I reported it and Facebook removed it.

I've been thinking about it because it brought me back to three central questions I've been exploring through this work for more than a decade.

What do we carry inside ourselves about race?

What responsibility do we have for what we carry?

And what are we willing to do about it?

They're an invitation to examine what living in a racialized society has deposited in all of us—and what happens when what we carry internally becomes something we say or do.

This is why the work needs to continue.

On the evening of August 8th, we opened the doors and welcomed people into .

What began at G-Town Radio in 2015 has returned to the place where it started—not simply to revisit the past, but to make room for new perspectives, new reflections and new voices.

People gathered. They explored the portraits, maps and archival materials. They talked with one another. They responded to the questions. And they began adding their own thoughts to the conversation.

This was only the opening.

Over the next four months, the residency will continue to unfold through the window installation, the Green Room and a series of community activations that invite us to keep thinking and talking together.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us begin this next chapter.
