Since 1975, Opera Philadelphia has been Philadelphia’s professional opera company, performing at the historic Academy of Music, the Kimmel Center’s contemporary and intimate Perelman Theater, and across the city during our new annual festival, O, launching in the fall of 2017. The Opera strives to deliver outstanding productions of both traditional and exciting new works that resonate with the com

munity; to identify, cultivate, and cast rising young talent alongside internationally-acclaimed singers; and to present innovative programs that educate, broaden, deepen, and diversify the opera audience, both in Philadelphia and beyond.

We join Philadelphia’s arts community in mourning the loss of Dito van Reigersberg, the visionary artist, performer, and creator beloved to audiences as Martha Graham Cracker.

Dito was a singular force in Philadelphia’s cultural life whose artistry defied boundaries and brought people together. We are deeply grateful for the creativity, imagination, and joy he shared with Opera Philadelphia through Dito & Aeneas and the Queens of the Night series, and with audiences across Philadelphia and beyond.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Dito’s family, friends, and collaborators, and to the many people whose lives were touched by his extraordinary presence.

Rest in power, Martha. Your voice and light will continue to resonate.

The Philly Pride Arts Festival is a month‑long celebration of LGBTQIA+ artists, stories, and community across Philadelphia this June. Created by a coalition of five arts organizations—Cross Keys Theatre Collective, East Passyunk Opera Project, Liberty City Arts, Prismatic Arts Ensemble, and Wear Yellow Proudly—the festival features performances, concerts, cabaret, outdoor events, and community engagement across the city.
