Join the Theatre Arts Program for our end-of-semester party and end-of-term showings on Wednesday, 4/29! First, stop by to enjoy dinner from New Delhi to connect with faculty and students in the Theatre Arts Office Suite. Catch up with familiar faces and celebrate the end-of-the-year as a community.

Around 6pm, we will move to Room 511 for showings of work from our classes. Students will present short scenes and monologues in a casual setting.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of ANN, FRAN, & MARY ANN on their incredible run! Thank you to everyone who supported the production and to our incredible audience who joined us over the weekend.

We also want to recognize Andreea Mincic (Costume & Set Designer), Jungmin Lee (Video Designer); and Sydney Wiggins (Sound Designer), who weren't able to join us for the company photo.

As we prepare for our final performance of ANN, FRAN & MARY ANN today at 2pm, we want to share a few moments to capture the lighting, set, costume, and video design for the production.

Andreea Mincic's set design splits the stage into two sparse lab spaces and incorporates the large mirror wall described in Erin Courtney's script. Jungmin Lee's video designs appear throughout the play as projections and vibrant images on the scientists' computer screens. Emmanuel Garcia-Castro's lighting carries the between the play's cold clinical lab setting and its more expressive emotional moments.

It's time to share our final ANN, FRAN, AND MARY ANN company spotlights for... Lulia Tesfamariam (Ann) and Michelle Xilotl-Gonzalez (Costume Assistant and Wardrobe)!

AFMA Mini-Bios 9 and 10:

9) Lulia Tesfamariam is a senior in the College studying Psychology. A fun fact is that she used to do competitive diving in high school and managed to hit the board 3 times in the 3 years she played the sport.

10) Pre-vet by day, maker by night. If Michelle Xilotl-Gonzalez isn’t found at her desk, you can often find her at Platt or Addams, attempting to find a new creative skill to acquire!

We are three days out, and opening night ticket reservations for ANN, FRAN, AND MARY ANN are nearly gone! Today's AFMA company spotlight is on Elliot Ross-Dick (Assistant Director/Dramaturg) and Sydney Wiggins (Sound Designer)!

AFMA Mini-Bios 7 and 8:

7) Elliot Ross-Dick is a junior in the College, studying math, theatre arts, and data science. He once played 6 roles in the same play.

8) Sydney Wiggins studies political science by day, sings soprano by night, and designs sound for Ann, Fran and Mary Anne on weekends :)

5 days until opening night! Today, we'll check in with AFMA company members Sofia Mangel (Mary Ann) and Cyrus Nininger (Assistant Technical Director).

AFMA Mini-Bios 5 and 6:

5) Sofia Mangel is pre-med and hopes to be a doctor someday! Ask her in 10 years. She also loves talking about her Costa Rican culture, so you can also ask her about that in 10 years.

6) Cyrus Nininger is a first-year student who always has extra accessories in his pockets! He also really likes Godzilla (and all the other kaiju, too).

These snapshots show the company of Ann, Fran, and Mary Ann rehearsing on stage for the first time -- a mix of actual props and scenic elements with casual clothes and fill-ins. The next step is to integrate the remaining production elements: costumes, lights, set, sound, video through technical rehearsals that started today. All in time for opening night this Thursday!
