Transitions cause one to take stock.
As I emptied this beautiful studio that was my 2nd home for 13 years, I thought about so many meaningful moments with customers & staff.
How often does one get to live out a dream? Or get to do widespread good in a community? Or get to connect with thousands of people from all ages, walks of life and reasons for being here? Or get to mentor young people in business and life skills? Or get to have fun & create art everyday in business?
This business was such an amazing experience for me, as I know it was for my customers.
Together with my capable staff, we presented wonderful experiences for young families, date nights, friend groups, team building, fundraising, camps, schools & every possible assemblage of folks. Many of my customers and staff became real friends of mine, extending past the physical walls of my studio.
For this I am so grateful.
This business was also a refuge for me in the darkest times. Literally, through loss and grief, this studio was my safe space—a diversion in the best possible way. It was another way for me to connect with customers who found similar refuge & oasis from personal challenges & a haven from the stresses of the world.
For this I am so grateful.
This studio helped me hone my business skills, but it also helped me find my voice as an artist. My personal art is not ceramics or glass, but I was fulfilled in exploring these media and teaching it to others.
For this I am so grateful.
I fully realize the blessings that were afforded me during my time in this business. I am so proud of what my family, staff and I built and presented in this space. I thank each and every one of my customers who supported us for so many years. And I look forward to new beginnings, new opportunities, and living life fully!
