🌑 HIGH CONTRAST, SURREAL EDGE, TWO YEARS IN AND ALREADY WORTH WATCHING

Lane Leach () is two years into their tattoo career and working out of Oklahoma City with a focus that's already pretty specific: high-contrast black and grey with a surrealist bent. Large-scale narrative pieces and smaller detailed work that hits just as hard. The contrast and shading are doing real work — atmospheric, intentional, not just technically clean. Early career doesn't mean early talent. This is someone building something worth paying attention to.

Kaleb Trujillo (.gloomyink) grew up in South Tucson spending afternoons after school in his great uncles' tattoo shop — so tattooing wasn't something he discovered, it was something he was raised around. Liz Campos () has been tattooing since 2009 out of Los Angeles, and the range she's built over that time shows. Her blackwork is bold and high-contrast, her black-and-grey realism pulls detail that holds under scrutiny, and her horror work earns the genre without leaning on cheap shock. Chicanx cultural influence runs through the composition and symbolism in ways that give the work real grounding. Kaerina Gregory (.rina.art) has been tattooing since 2017, splitting her focus between two styles that don't always share the same artist: vibrant, saturated floral work and black-and-grey portraits. The color work is the kind that stops the scroll — bright botanicals with the kind of depth that holds up over time. Her portrait work sits at the other end of the spectrum, restrained and precise. Eric Martinez () grew up in Los Angeles and brought that West Coast black & grey tradition with him when he relocated to Oklahoma City. That lineage shows — smooth tonal transitions, high-contrast shading, portrait and illustrative work that's clean and structurally tight. LA-style black & grey realism has a specific look, and Nez carries it well. He's building his presence in the OKC market and the work is doing the talking.
