Considered by some to be an underground burlesque festival, Burlesque-N-Beyond has been running since 2007. BNB brings together performers from the tristate region and beyond (including Canada) for a 4 day celebration of burlesque at its best! No competitions! Just pure entertainment and perhaps a bit of debauchery. And Brunch. Also - each event strives to attach LIVE musical acts to collaborate with the performers giving audiences the thrill of seeing dancers create innovative improvisation, involving dynamic musical exchanges with a LIVE band. The Mission of this festival is simple: create safe-spaces where we can gather together the cabaret-community, let them exchange their ideals, stagecraft and passion, and all parties come away with renewed vigor and inspiration. That is why over the 10 year arc, we have brought international talent into the city - while exposing the next generation to those who have set the standards for stage-performance in years past. THIS YEAR: we are bringing a brand-new troupe into our city! The Cheesecake Burlesque Revue from British Columbia:
Ch*****ne Sparkles, Kitten Kaboodle, Silk E Gunz,
Dollipop and Ginger Kittens. AND we have returning guests from Vancouver:
Melody Mangler of Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society
who is bringing first-timer April O' Peel along! while these artists will doubtless be faboo - the fest will
be highlighting over 30 of the area's most-devoted performance-artists to share the stage, and demonstrate their love of burlesque. Musical Guests this year include:
The St******se Orchestra,
Drew Nugent and The Midnight Society,
The Rectors,
and The Roddenberries
ALL events are free to attend (except Sat. workshops)
and venues, times and details will be posted soon. Thanks in advance for supporting
"America's only free festival for cabaret-culture"
for Sept. 20th - 23rd.
