Pig Iron is proud to host École Jacques Lecoq for a 4-day workshop in Philadelphia as part of their 70th anniversary! Join us for this rare experience, their first formal visit to North America in decades.

Pig Iron is proud to host École Jacques Lecoq for a 4-day workshop in Philadelphia as part of their 70th anniversary! Join us for this rare experience, their first formal visit to North America in decades.

Jacques Lecoq is known as one of the 20th century's greatest theatre teachers, focusing on physical theatre, ensemble-based performance, and what we now call "devising". His international school, now celebrating its 70th year, brought together artists from dozens of countries with no shared language except the language of the body. Several of Pig Iron's founders and long-term collaborators studied at the school in the 1990's and we have maintained close connections since then. This is a rare opportunity to study with two of the school's core faculty members who bring the this vital work to the Pig Iron studios for 4 nights in September as well as an afternoon panel conversation about the past, present, and future of physical and ensemble-based theatre worldwide.

This workshop is for experienced stage artists: actors, dancers, circus artists, performers, and all with a passion for movement.

ROCKFACES & OTHER STRATA continues tonight!

This past March, our first year cohort traveled to the southwest of South Dakota to see and experience the spaces, peoples, and histories contained within that epic landscape.

From this exploration, this cohort has put together a new work of theatre, composed from the fragments, images, conversations, and impressions of this one of a kind place.
