Curators and fellow artists and ***rspacephilly completely transformed the third floor gallery space into a tarot lover’s dreamscape, complete with an altar, a table for readings, candles and incense, and of course—the incredible submissions from the community. “Divinely Q***r,” was a beautiful collection of pieces that embody the lived experiences of being q***r and looking to the spiritual for guidance or amplification.

If you missed seeing, we hope you enjoy these pictures taken during the Opening Reception.

Are you interested in renting our third floor gallery space for a special event of your own? We’ve got you covered!

Pomona said of this body of work, “These musicians are beloved friends and I’m moved when I hear them play. I often make rapid sketches of them and their audience. These sketches became the basis of several paintings in “𝒀𝒆𝒔”.

July 11th, we’re hosting a live 1️⃣2️⃣-hour marathon fundraiser at 704 Catharine St! We’re going to have food, drinks, raffles, live entertainment, workshops, art activations, and so much more!

This is our collective at its finest so if you’re not familiar with the work we do, come out to support and learn more about our mission! Meet our members, make some amazing summer memories and connect with artists in the arts scene while you’re at it! We’re going to be streaming and broadcasting LIVE until 6 am for those of you who won’t be able to make it in person! For those of you who can, get your energy drinks ready!

The event is family friendly with the intention of bringing people of all ages and backgrounds into the same space to foster community and advance the intergenerational investment into the future of art making.

We’ve lived a lot of different lives as an organization in this city but what keeps our foundation strong is our commitment to changing and adapting throughout life’s many unpredictable turns! This is why we utilize art making and appreciation for the arts as a tool to connect and build strong fortitude and resilience with our community! For 95 years, DVAA has remained a creative refuge against tyranny, injustice and prejudice.

So, we ask for your support to continue advancing our goal of making this space and our work as accessible as possible so that it may continue to amplify marginalized voices and grant artists of all disciplines and practices the opportunities traditional programs exclude them from.

Let’s get weird! Come to DVAA to join us in celebrating and advancing our mission! 🍾🪩
