Commissioned by John Pignotti on behalf of the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association, this video is a tribute to the memory of legendary String Bands Hall of Fame inductee Bob Shannon. A member of Quaker City String Band for more than 50 years, he served as Captain from 1972 - 2008 and led his club to nine First Place prizes and won top honors as Captain seven times. Recognized across the United States and Europe as an ambassador for our New Year tradition, Bob has left his legacy as one of the most famous Mummers in history. Video produced by Eric A. Projekt Studios Promotions getting off to a great start as we bring a tremendous entertainment lineup to Frankie and Jimmy D's for March with even more announcements to come, and we are just getting started!
April will see the return of Johnny Looch, the F&JD's debut of Stevie B.'s resident DJ Slice, Guest Bartenders Jacky Bam Bam and the return of Jack Hatty, along with another edition of "Back To The 80's", and some of the best bands and entertainers in the region!
Meanwhile over at M2, PS Promotions is excited to announce the return of Legendary DJ Robbie Tronco to South Philly, every Friday night starting March 20th, and "90's Night" every last Friday of the month at White Horse Pub!

John Pignotti, President of the Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association, commissioned this video in honor of the memories of Denny Palandro, Jr. and Joe Ferry, two members of the South Philadelphia String Band Association, for presentation during the annual Association Banquet on March 2nd, 2019. In remembrance, the Palandro-Ferry Memorial Foundation was established on January 3rd, 2019 "to provide monetary scholarships and goodwill among the Philadelphia Mummers Community, as well as serve as a reminder of these amazing people."
