“I am honored to share fond memories of my favorite person. A true blessing, brother and breath of fresh air. I love him every day and look forward to eternity together. His time here was brilliant but brief.😇”

“I have been in love with this boy since I was nine years old. We would go on vacations together with my mother and my godmother, who was my mom’s bestie and Mike’s aunt/cousin. We were young but I would always tell my Godmother that he was so cute and that I loved him so. My mom and Godmother thought it was a cute crush and encouraged the “cousin” idea to get me to back off and also to avoid heart break. So for so long I admired him from afar. We reconnected after about 25 years. I had been married and separated and he was coming to a crushing end to his 20 year relationship. We instantly became besties and counseled one another through our heartache and storms. After his break up and a few months of just figuring it out, we decided to give it a try. We are four years strong and loving every minute of it. We plan to continue to build a life together.”

“Andrew was born with a rare disease called STXBP1-Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy (DEE). Around 9 months old, we noticed some delays in his development and on his first birthday, we began the process of early intervention. This disorder is heavily characterized by severe global and intellectual delays, epilepsy, autism, and more. Andrew has continuously proved us wrong: walking shortly after his second birthday-and one week after we received his diagnosis (the date on the lock)-mimicking sounds and words, playing with toys and more. He has recently begun using an AAC device to help with his communication and is truly the happiest kid.

This fence was introduced to us at the STXBP1 Family Summit on July 18. We all were given a lock to place and each one has a QR code to the STXBP1 Foundation website. There is so much research going on and we are so fortunate for everyone doing their part to help our kids.

Andrew is a beacon of hope and light for us. We will cherish this wall and this moment.”

“My boyfriend, Dan Ferris and I visited the Hope Fence before we went to the KoRn concert in Camden. He was fascinated with the wall. Unfortunately, he passed away unexpectedly 2 weeks later. To say that I’m broken doesn’t really cover it. But I thought putting a lock on the wall was a great way to honor our love, which is forever.”

“Christine and I first met in high school as freshmen in 1997-98 timeframe. Our friendship developed over time and it got to a point where I wanted it to be more, but I was too shy to say anything. We eventually went our separate ways in high school, but kept in touch during our adult years through social media. Everything for us came full circle in 2020 when we really started talking again and hanging out with each other’s families. I told myself I wasn’t going to let her go again and I proposed to her in July of 2022 after receiving the blessings from her daughters, my two children, and her mom. We plan on getting married with our kids standing by our side. She is my happily ever after.”

“This lock is for the story of all of us. Inspired by my first visit to Philadelphia April 1-3 2026 for the 250th. The city where the country was founded has filled me with HOPE for this experiment we call America, LOVE for all her people, and FAITH that We The People will continue to work towards the premise that ALL are created equal and deserve the Pursuit of Life, Liberty and Happiness. With love from Wisconsin ❤️”
