i made this painting forever ago and something about it still feels *incomplete*

it’s just been sitting in my studio

for a while i had it turned around lol

i didn’t like it - i felt like i did too much and it was too busy and disconnected

but recently it’s growing on me

i turned it back around, i even hung it up

i like looking at it in my studio every day

it still doesn’t feel done but

is any art ever done?

maybe that’s the fun part 🧚🏼‍♀️

i’ve always loved that.

i think sometimes that can happen with people, too. sometimes we have cracks in our sidewalks.

sometimes something sets us back (or is it really just setting us on a different course?), and it hurts and cracks and breaks us open

but maybe that’s an opportunity

for something new to grow 🌱

maybe those set backs are a gift

maybe the best growth happens in the cracks.

but who am i to tell you - i’m just a silly little painter 💭
