Many Hats Productions is accepting digital submissions for auditions for Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties by Jen Silverman, directed by Siobhan Ehresmann.

Many Hats Productions is a new production company focusing on sharing q***r stories. As young professionals, we have witnessed some of the greatest tellings of q***r stories onstage in Philadelphia, and are presenting our first production with the aspiration to become a part of telling such stories.

All actors will be compensated with a small stipend following the close!

SUMMARY:

Betty is rich; Betty is lonely; Betty’s busy working on her truck; Betty wants to talk about love, but Betty needs to hit something. And Betty keeps using a small hand mirror to stare into parts of herself she’s never examined. Five different women named Betty collide at the intersection of anger, s*x, and the “thea-tah.”
CHARACTERS:
BETTY 1: femme, white, rich, uptight, fueled by a secret rage
BETTY 2: femme, any ethnicity, rich, uptight but coming undone
BETTY 3: femme, Latinx, charismatic and pretty, kinda a know it all
BETTY 4: butch le***an, any ethnicity, great tattoos, gently melancholic, is too often ignored
BETTY 5: genderq***r, masculine of center, any ethnicity, great tattoos, owns a hole in the wall boxing gym
