AARON SCHWARTZBAUM founded It’s Always Punny after moving to Philly in 2022. He can’t believe you people keep coming to this thing — but he’s pretty damn grateful for it. While he’s not in contention in the tournament, you’re still going to see some wordplay antics from him. Strap in, folks. ✈️

More like return of the Zach, am I right? ZACH BRASS is an ambidextrous punner, a threat in both PUNDITS and PUNDEMONIUM. He nearly won IAPIP 9, and this time, vengeance may well be his. Why does he have what it takes? He shares “I called my mom and she said I’m special. That’s good enough for me.” 🐈

DAVE TERRUSO returns to It’s Always Punny after storming into the finals last time around. Will his undeniable wordplay chops propel him to the championship? He tells us “I have what it takes after working as a feature at two comedy clubs. I put the PUN in Punch Line Philly and I put the UM, COMEDY in Helium Comedy Club.” 🤦‍♂️

The man. The legend. The uncle. STEVE “Uncle Steve” GEWIRTZMAN isn’t just our founder’s uncle — which is why we have guest judges, by the way — but an Always Punny OG and wordplay powerhouse. He tells (no, warns) us “I’m going to drop puns until you all cry UNCLE!” ⚡️

ANNE HARVEY once inspired fear among Philly punners, tearing up in two PUNDITS rounds running. After she hung up her gloves, we thought we had seen the last of her… but now she’s back with a vengeance. She says “I always PUNch above my weight. I ain’t no PUNk and I got sPUNk.” 💥

The moment you’ve been waiting for: our TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS roster. 🏆 🦅

Will Daniel Oaks continue his winning streak? Will a seasoned vet like Emma Taylor Miller or Mylin Batipps Jr. regain wordplay glory? Or, will a new hot shot like Dave Terruso or Zachary Brass storm to fame? Also, we brought Dating Coach Erika Ettin, who took home second place and punning nationals in Austin this year. 💥 🥊

Anyway, come see this thing! Tix in the bio. 🎟️

If you know the pun scene, you know ERIKA ETTIN. She’s won far too many events to list here, but to make the point, she joins having placed second at this year’s O HENRY NATIONAL PUN-OFF. She says “punning is in my blood. I’m originally from Cherry Hill, so give it to a local!” ☀️
