NEW THINGS continue to happen at QUIG’S.

On the eve of Thursday April 16th, a room of friends and strangers will be singing along to Green Day’s greatest anthems with lyrics projected onscreen and and taking the stage. In a world that favors product over process, sometimes we forget why being creative and trying new things is important.

As a recent newsletter pointed out, “experiencing art and creativity, even for a few minutes a day, has tangible effects on our mental and physical health. And you don’t have to be good at any of these things to reap the health benefits…All you have to do is take part.”

Exploring new modes of creativity, as a creator or audience member, can help us stay engaged and emotionally regulated at a time when so much external chaos can have us feeling anxious, helpless, or enraged.

The Creativity Collective and Going Acoustic at Quig’s are coming together to encourage anyone seeing this to try something new today, taking inspiration from the upcoming NEW THINGS NIGHT taking place at Quig’s Pub, NEXT MONDAY March 23rd. If you are in the Philly area, write something new: a new song, poem, or any creative work, and show it at Going Acoustic at Quig’s next Open Mic. Go to page for more information about this event, sign ups, and more!

Want to explore your creative “why”? Join The Creativity Collective for their upcoming workshop, “Knowing Yourself as a Creative.” This 90-minute free, virtual workshop, facilitated by and , is designed to help creative professionals and hobbyists understand their needs, strengths, and challenges so they can build sustainable, joyful creative practices.

Workshop Date:
-Sunday, March 22, 2026: 1-2:30 pm ET

Only one more week until NEW THINGS NIGHT at Quig’s. Again, you may not have started working on anything new yet. NO SWEAT, no worries, no rush. Perfection isn’t the point. We have tips and advice on our grid to help and a few more to come. We’re in this together. 🥰 Don’t forget about that *PRIZE for encouragement.

Here are the two prompts we shared for inspiration for this year.

1. All the World’s a Stage 🎭
2. Waiting in the Wings 🪽

We are also encouraging people who may never have performed at an Open Mic before to try a new thing, show up, sign-up, and get up.

And as a prize, to those who bring a new thing, or come to Going Acoustic to perform at an Open Mic for the first time, we will be giving a $5 Wawa gift card!

We’re also excited to have a new guest vendor, Tulia Day, who will be selling art (and creating a new piece based on one of our prompts), so be sure to check their page out as well!

We hope to see you there!
