There are partnerships… and then there are people who *move with purpose.
philly isn’t just a name, it’s a mindset:
A Team Taking Responsive Actions with Conscious Thoughts and that’s exactly who they’ve been to us from the very beginning.

They didn’t just support us, they saw us early.

They gave us our first opportunity to bring art therapy into their North Philly community through their “Sky is the Limit” community drive. They trusted the vision before it had history. They created space before we had a track record.

They were also the first to invest in our work, our first paid service, something that didn’t just affirm what we were doing, but helped us establish ourselves in a real way. That moment mattered more than words can explain.

That’s what it looks like to be intentional.
That’s what it looks like to lead with consciousness. That’s what it looks like to take action for real.

To their founder, , and the entire team, thank you for being consistent, for being loud in your support, and for always showing up without hesitation. Your work continues to empower youth, create access, and shift what’s possible in our communities.

Thank you for standing with us, pouring into us, and walking alongside us, not just for this moment, but from the start.

Your out pouring of donations, contributions, your encouragement, and your presence at our “Kourage to Kick Off” meant everything.

We don’t take it lightly.

From one mission-driven space to another… we are forever grateful.

And that’s a wrap on “Kourage to Kick Off.”

What a beautiful night of fellowship, connection, and community.

Our youth showed up, engaged, laughed, and simply enjoyed being in a space where they are seen, supported, and valued. Moments like this remind us why consistency and safe spaces matter so much.

This is Kourage House. steady, welcoming, and intentional.

We fed them, we talked with them, we poured into them, and we reminded them that this is a space they can always come back to.

We’d always love to see more parents show up and be present, but we’re grateful they send them and we’ll take it. Sometimes that’s where it starts.

A mustard seed at a time… we keep planting, and eventually the harvest comes.

Grateful for every young person who came through tonight.

Here’s to a strong, supported school year ahead…rooted in Kourage.

We always catch them off guard with the pictures 🤣 We keep telling them, stay ready. It’s a life lesson 😩🤣

They always yelling “you drawlin!” but that’s the lesson right there.

Life doesn’t always wait for you to fix your hair, find your angle, or get comfortable. Sometimes the moment just shows up. And you either learn how to show up in it… or you miss it.

So we remind them, stay present, stay aware, and don’t be so caught up in your surroundings that you forget you’re part of the moment too.

Even the laughter, even the “gotcha” pictures, even the chaos… it’s all part of learning how to be ready for life as it comes.

Three peas in a pod… or maybe four 🤣🤣

These boys had me laughing the whole time. Fellowship was nothing but “bro” this, “bro” that 😩 and the corniest smack talk you ever heard.

And we wouldn’t trade it for anything.

That’s just our Kourage House, laughter, bonding, and moments like this that remind us why we do what we do.

The Kourage House is that safe space where they can just be themselves and know that it’s their right, not a privilege.

This one right here never forgets it… AJ is truly hilarious in his own way and we love all that he is. The energy, the personality, the honesty, he shows up exactly as himself every time.

Cheers to a wonderful school year ahead for all of our youth. Growth, learning, laughter, and new beginnings are all on the horizon.

This is what having the Kourage to Kick Off means.

It’s loving yourself enough to make your Kourage a priority… non-negotiable. A place you don’t just visit when it’s convenient, but a space you choose because it pours back into you, builds you up, and reminds you who you are becoming.

Not them strolling in at the last minute like they didn’t just spend the whole time posted up at the basketball court 😩🤣 “I know you lying…”

At the Kourage House we do have those conversations, because we’re big on helping them make better decisions and learn how to prioritize what matters. That part is real. They’ll hear us on that every time.

But even with the correction, even with the reminders, even with the accountability… we still lead with care.

So yes, no backpacks, no supplies this time… but they were still fed 🤣

And now they already know the routine: tomorrow they’ll be back for supplies, and yes… they’ll get another loving lecture too. Because growth comes with consistency, structure, and a whole lot of truth mixed with love.

That’s the balance here…firm guidance and full plates. Always.

We are so proud of you, Danielle.

As one of our youth ambassadors and a vital part of the Kourage Foundation team, she continues to show up with consistency, a bright smile, and a heart that is always willing to support others. But beyond what we see on the surface, Danielle is also using her voice in powerful ways.

In today’s conversation with Shara Dae, she shared an incredible testimony about why art is so therapeutic for young people. She spoke honestly about how creating gives her a way to navigate life, especially in those moments when emotions feel too big or too complicated to explain. Through art, she’s able to identify all the different “feels” that come with being a teenager and instead of holding it in, she’s able to release it.

That kind of awareness and expression is powerful.

Danielle reminds us that art is not just creativity, it’s communication, it’s healing, and it’s a safe place for young people to process what they’re going through when words aren’t enough. Her voice matters, her story matters, and we are honored to watch her grow, lead, and pour into others right alongside us.

Fellowship is always at the heart of what we do at the Kourage House. It’s more than just being in the same space, it’s about breaking bread together, laughing together, and creating moments where young people can just be seen and heard without judgment.

When our youth sit down to eat together, something powerful happens. Walls start to come down. Conversations start to flow. They learn how to engage each other, not just talk at one another, but actually listen, respond, and understand. These shared meals become a space for bonding, where trust is built naturally, not forced.

This kind of fellowship matters because many of our young people don’t always get consistent spaces where they feel safe enough to open up. Around the table, they practice active listening, patience, empathy, and respect. They learn how to sit with different perspectives and still find connection. Those are life skills that go far beyond the program, they show up in school, in friendships, and in how they move through the world.

At the Kourage House, we believe healing and growth don’t just happen in structured lessons, they happen in these everyday moments. In the conversations over food. In the laughter that fills the room. In the simple act of showing up for each other.

These beauties are loving their new backpacks 🎒

They were able to fill them with all the essentials they need to start the school year feeling comfortable, confident, and ready.

A special thank you to Ms. Kelly for your support and generous donations, because of you, they’re walking into this school year prepared and in style. 🩷

One of our CEOs showed up and got right to it today.

Sharing, supporting, and not afraid to roll up her sleeves, that’s the kind of leadership our space is built on. Her heart for our youth and families is real, and it shows in everything she does.

Because of her willingness, we’re able to keep this work going the way it needs to. And for that, we’re truly grateful. 💛
