Due to circumstances beyond our production team's control, The Drama Group of Germantown will no longer be able to present “Merely A Dumb Show” for audiences this week. All performances have been canceled. We are currently in the process of finalizing our fall production, and we hope you will join us to be a part of future Drama Group endeavors.

What happens when a writer's strike stops production on a major motion picture? The actors and crew are forced to take refuge in a luxurious Mediterranean hotel, of course! How distressing! What ever will they do? And how will the local staff manage to keep their sanity? Find out in Merely A Dumb Show! This new play, written by Brandon Bacorn and inspired by Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, will have its premiere reading by the Drama Group of Germantown, under the direction of DGG’s Technical Director, Becca Begnaud.

CORI MASKART- THE MASKED MAN/PASTOR KAHLBAUCH
Cori Maskart (they/he) is acting with The Drama Group of Germantown for the first time in Spring Awakening. They performed in the 2018 Philly Fringe production of God Forgive These Bastards and he also directed the 2019 Philly Theatre Week production of We’ll Sleep When We’re Dead, both with The Bards Theatre Troupe.

Spring Awakening's final weekend starts tomorrow! Tickets still on sale! Meet Our Cast!
MIKEL WRIGHT (MORITZ)
Mikel Wright is a musical theater actor based in Philadelphia, PA and has been actor for 8+ years. This is Mikel’s 2ND time working for the Drama Group of Germantown; last time performing in their rendition of “Juliet&Romeo” back in the spring. Outside of acting, Mikel is a semi-competitive longboarder who recently placed around 39th place in the NYC “BroadwayBomb2025” race. Before that he, as well as his partner, held the first annual “SharksRipTrails” longboard race here in the city! Previous works Mikel has been in go as such: Drake “The Snap” Snoliver at Eastern State Penitentiary Halloween Nights, Daddy in Enchantment Theater Company’s ‘Mommy’s Khimar’, and as the lead actor in an award-nominated student made film ‘A Little Blue’ by Solomon Troupe. Mikel is thrilled to showcase their first ever performance of ‘Spring Awakening’ to the public!

BRANDON BOWDEN (ERNST ROBEL)
Brandon Bowden is super excited about being in Spring Awakening as this is his first time ever participating in a play in any capacity; he wants to thank Director Cj Higgins for giving him this opportunity to participate in this play and he hopes to do an amazing job. He’s wanted to be an actor since he watched Disney channel as a kid and even more when he watched Goodfellas. Outside of acting he enjoys drawing and making music.

Jay Adams (they/he/she) is a multidisciplinary artist based in the Philadelphia area. Recent credits include The Comedy of Errors, Twelfth Night, and An Evening with August Strindberg. Love, as always, to their sun, their moon, and their stars (plus the two catellites).
