Three hour class with a break.

💻 WHERE
This workshop takes place live on Zoom. Take the class from anywhere! All you need is a quiet space, portable device, and a mic.

You already write good jokes. Annoyingly, that’s not the same as writing killer jokes.

This workshop is for established stand-up comedians who are tired of guessing why a joke murdered on Tuesday and politely died on Friday. Alyssa Al-Dookhi breaks down the actual theory of joke writing so you can see the mechanics under the hood—what’s doing the work, what’s dead weight, and what to fix without lighting your whole set on fire.

Alyssa has been a stand-up for over a decade, has been on Netflix, written jokes for Sandra Bernhard, served as Head Writer at an organization founded by a co-founder of The Daily Show, and judged submissions for the HBO Women in Comedy Festival. Translation: they’ve written, performed, and evaluated more jokes than is healthy for one person.

This isn’t Comedy 101. This is “ohhhh THAT’S why it works.” Learn to punch up faster, make smarter choices onstage, get bigger laughs, and build sets that actually get you booked again—on purpose, not by vibes alone.
