OPEN AUDITIONDS - 3 Mad Rituals: An Untitled Sports Documentary
Sawubona Creativity Project is hosting OPEN AUDITIONS: December 20, 2025 between 10am-4pm; with callbacks at 5pm
3 Mad Rituals: An Untitled Sports Documentary — an improvised hour-long comedy that turns audience suggestions into a deep dive into the “sports moments” that shape our world.
Each performance will explore a different made up “famous” moment suggested by the audience; which could be anything from a legendary Eagles game to a pickleball showdown or even a halftime show meltdown.
3 Mad Rituals is a format created by improv legend Del Close and performed by the improv team The Family in Chicago in the early 90s. This show is made up of three different forms… The Movie, The Deconstruction and The Harold, all performed back to back in 60 minutes.
The Movie - scenes are “directed” by team members who detail camera angles, lighting cues, and sound effects in the moment.
The Deconstruction - A two-person relationship is analyzed by the team, each of the two characters' motives, feelings and reactions are deconstructed and defined.
The Harold - Structured like a play, this format contains 3 acts in which performers develop characters, story lines and games to explore inspiration from the audience.

What We’re Looking For:
Experienced improv and/or character actors who have taken AT LEAST a level 201 improv class.
Strong improvisers who can play both grounded and absurd characters
Performers who can handle a 60 minute show with no breaks
Commitment: If cast, you must attend a minimum 8 of the 10 rehearsals beginning on Sunday from 12:30-2:30pm January 11-March 15.

Saturday March 21st @ 2p & 8p,
Sunday March 22nd at 2p
Saturday March 28th at 2p & 8p
Sunday March 29th at 2p
Compensation: Cast will share a portion of ticket proceeds less expenses (there is no pay for rehearsals).
