“‘The Weight of Time’, a Morton Contemporary Art Gallery exhibition of paintings by 10 artists serving life sentences at SCI Phoenix prison, lays bare heartache, hope and the crushing force of hour piling upon hour.” — Constance Garcia-Barrio

Morton Contemporary is excited to present its first immersive exhibition: Alchemy: The Sound of Color, by multidisciplinary artist DONNA ISHAM, opening Saturday, June 6, 2026. Created in collaboration with her husband, MARK ISHAM — EMMY & GRAMMY AWARD winning musician and Academy Award-nominated composer— the series brings together large-scale paintings, project-mapped animation, and original musical scores.

Renowned for his film scores, including Crash and A River Runs Through It, and for his work as a trumpeter alongside artists such as Joni Mitchell, Mark infuses the work with a deeply cinematic emotional resonance. Together, Donna & Mark create immersive environments that dissolve the boundaries between contemporary art, film, and performance.

This exhibition expands painting into a luminous, multi-sensory experience where abstraction, moving image, and sound converge.

Alongside their immersive work, a collection of Donna’s stunning abstract and figurative paintings will also be on exhibtion. To RSVP use link in bio. Show expected to sell out, so please reserve soon!

The father of NFL New York Giants, ABDUL CARTER, recently acquired artist Keith Andrews powerful original painting, THE USUAL SUSPECTS, here at Morton Contemporary Gallery in Philly.

Big Carter was deeply moved when he saw this painting hanging in Morton Contemporary. Big served 10 years in federal prison. The work of our extraordinary artist, Kieth Andrews, who is serving a life sentence, really spoke to Big.

Big said in no uncertain terms - “I did not choose this painting. The painting chose me.” We are so grateful that Keith’s painting has found a beautiful home and owner.

Turkish artist Didem Yağcı joins Morton Contemporary! Stunning 3-dimensional sculptural art made of wood that combines optical illusion, structure, and refined color.

Didem Yağcı is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice has been based between Istanbul and New York for more than a decade. With an academic background in Chemistry and further studies in Contemporary Art and Design at the London College of Fashion, the artist moves between analytical precision and spiritual intuition through layered explorations of form in wood and plaster. Yağcı engages with the tension and harmony between Western analytical approaches and Eastern philosophical sensibilities.

Join us for a bold reimagining of the birth of America. This Open Call invites accomplished painters worldwide to explore the founding of America through a playful contemporary lens!
Through irony, satire and meaningful artistic expression, we hope to offer audiences a moment of levity in these overwhelmingly trying times, without sacrificing depth.

America’s 250th birthday is being celebrated in Philadelphia, and is expected to bring in an unprecedented number of visitors throughout the summer, thus offering artists exceptional visibility.

We look forward to reviewing your submissions!
