HAPPY HAPPY PEOPLEHOOD! Spiral Q’s Peoplehood Parade (11/9) came at just the right time. It was a great reminder of the community care in our neighborhood and the ways we stand up for each other. We sang with the Bearded Ladies Cabaret and on the streets, we celebrated our diversity and resilience, and we made our demands for a better world in the same breath! Thank you to the organizers!

We tested out some new repertoire at our recent rehearsal, including the anti-capitalist anthem “If I Ain’t Got You” (people over profits, duh) and “Don’t Have To Do It By Yourself” (a new anthem about asking for help). We sang rounds! We shared sunscreen! We flirted! ✨

I’m feeling really grateful for this group. Rise Choir is the best part of my spring and summer. Together, we’re singing into our fully embodied, q***r, trans, silly, talented, wonderful selves. 💜
