Join us in celebrating our 5th annual Anthony Haller Volunteer of the Year, Dale Sherman!

On May 28th, we will honor her 20 years as Lead Performance Chaperone for the School of Philadelphia Ballet. Here is a bit about her incredible career and accomplishments:

As a professional dancer, Dale’s career has spanned Broadway performances, ballet with the Russian Ballet Theatre, and multiple national tours. She further expanded her artistic range through appearances on daytime television, in commercials, and live industrial productions. Dale was awarded the prestigious Pennsylvania Governor’s Scholarship for the Arts in recognition of her artistic and academic excellence and went on to earn her BFA from UArts.

For two decades, Dale has generously given her time, passion, and expertise to lead School of Philadelphia Ballet students and other volunteers and provide crucial support to Philadelphia Ballet staff. She truly cares about every child and parent, always offering warm, steady support backstage. Dale is adored by our students and families, and her presence is an inspiration and a joy.

It is our great pleasure to present her with the Anthony Haller Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of her extraordinary contributions.

2026/27 Season Promotions// Congratulations to Roo Jacobsen, Gabriel Saad, and Alberto Gil Vicente on their promotions to Apprentice.

Roo Jacobsen trained with Ballet West Academy, Royal Ballet School, and the Sacramento Ballet Second Company. Jacobsen joins Philadelphia Ballet as an Apprentice for the 2026/27 Season.

Gabriel Saad began his training at the Washington School of Ballet and has also participated in summer programs at American Ballet Theatre on scholarship, Royal Ballet School, and Dutch National Ballet Academy. Gabriel Saad joined Philadelphia Ballet II for the 2025/26 Season before being promoted to Apprentice for the 2026/27 Season.

Alberto Gil Vicente trained at the Professional Conservatory of Madrid, The Royal Ballet School, and Boston Ballet II. He has received numerous international awards, including the Youth Grand Prix at Youth America Grand Prix, Gold Medal and Best Male Dancer at the International Ballet Competition of Havana, and First Prize at Tanzolymp, as well as top prizes at Dance Open America and other international competitions. Gil Vicente joins Philadelphia Ballet as an Apprentice for the 2026/27 Season.

We look forward to watching these dancers grow on their !
