Sinopsis:
En un rincón del Yucatán contemporáneo, una amorosa abuelita reúne a sus nietas, Tila y Pepita, para compartir con ellas la riqueza de la herencia maya antes de que llegue la hora de dormir. A través de una antigua leyenda transmitida de generación en generación, las niñas descubren la historia de Balam e Ixchel, dos jóvenes enamorados que deberán desafiar las rígidas normas sociales de su tiempo para defender la fuerza de su amor. Entre tradiciones ancestrales, valores culturales y la magia de la imaginación, esta entrañable obra de títeres invita al público a viajar al esplendor de la civilización maya y a reflexionar sobre el poder del amor, la valentía y la libertad de elegir nuestro propio destino.

Synopsis:
In a corner of present-day Yucatán, a loving grandmother gathers her granddaughters, Tila and Pepita, to share the richness of their Maya heritage before bedtime. Through an ancient legend passed down from generation to generation, the girls discover the story of Balam and Ixchel, two young lovers who must challenge the rigid social customs of their time in order to defend the power of their love. Filled with ancestral traditions, cultural values, and the magic of storytelling, this charming puppet play invites audiences on a journey into the splendor of Maya civilization while exploring themes of love, courage, and the freedom to choose one’s own destiny.
