Cigarette butts belong in the trash, not on the ground.🚭

Cigarette butts may be small, but they add up. In Texas Department of Transportation's 2023 survey, they made up 29.2% of the micro-litter counted along Texas roadways, more than any other type.

During , Oct. 5-11, Keep Pflugerville Beautiful is reminding our community that a cigarette butt is litter, even when it's easy to overlook.

Last call to become a Citizen Pforester!🌳

Registration for the Citizen Pforester Training Course closes tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 4!

Learn from local experts through classroom instruction, pfieldwork and practical training covering tree anatomy, identification, planting techniques, sustainable landscaping, urban pforestry and more.

The course is open to anyone age 15 and older, with sessions taking place Oct. 10, Oct. 24 and Nov. 14 at the Pflugerville Recreation Center (400 Immanuel Road).

It may be drizzling outside, but opportunity is shining in the Recreation Center!

Come to The Monarch part-time hiring pfair afternoon session from 2-5 p.m. today at the Pflugerville Recreation Center (400 Immanuel Road).

City staff will be available to answer questions about positions and what it's like to work for Pflugerville. We encourage you to apply online before the pfair, but computers will be available to complete and submit applications on-site.

Ready, set, pfun!🏃🎉

The annual Pfun Run returns Saturday, Oct. 17, as part of the 50th Anniversary of Deutschen Pfest! Take on the 5K or bring your little runners for the Kids 1K, with cheer stations, live music and plenty of energy along the way.

🗺️The out-and-back course begins at Pfluger Park (515 City Park Road), follows the Gilleland Creek Trail toward Windermere Park and returns to Pfluger Park.

🅿️Headed to the Pfun Run? PFREE parking is available at The Pfield (1440 W. Pecan St.), with shuttles beginning at 7 a.m. for Pfun Run participants. ADA parking and rideshare drop-off are available at Gilleland Creek Pool (700 N. Railroad Ave.).

Your Pfun Run registration also includes admission to Deutschen Pfest, so stick around after you cross the pfinish line and enjoy a full day of music, pfood and pfestivities!

Friday’s Star Party at 1849 Park has been canceled.🌧️🔭

Due to inclement weather, the Star Party scheduled for 7:30-10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 at 1849 Park (16430 Cameron Road) will no longer take place.

The next Star Party is scheduled for 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, so mark your calendar for another chance to explore the night sky!

City facilities will have modified hours Monday, Oct. 5 for a City staff recognition event.

City offices and the Recycle Center will be open 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pflugerville Animal Welfare Services will be closed to the public all day for facility cleaning. The Pflugerville Recreation Center and Pflugerville Public Library will remain open during regular hours.

Trash and recycling collection will continue as usual. For water issues while City offices are closed, call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 512-990-6700. In case of emergency, call 911.

All facilities will resume regular hours Tuesday, Oct. 6.
