UPDATE RE: MASKS:

The Health Department of Northwest Michigan (HDNW) rescinded their school mask order effective Feb 18, 2022 due to the decline in COVID-19 cases across the region. HDNW still “strongly recommends” the wearing of masks in indoor settings to decrease the likelihood of the spread of COVID-19.

In response to this order, masks will be recommended/optional (not mandatory) for singers and directors during rehearsals at this time.

VWB will be raffling off this paddle board February 12th. Tickets are on sale for $30 each by calling the VWB office at 231-838-0600.
“This board is one of our "Local Girls" built with a locally grown White Cedar body with a 8.5" Pacific Red Cedar inlay down the center. This board is 10' 3 & 3/4" tall and weighs 29 lbs. “

Jason Thelan has generously donated one of his beautifully crafted paddleboards in support of Voices Without Borders. If you would love to own one of these gorgeous paddleboards and at the same time support the Great Lakes Youth Choirs and VWB programming, tickets can be purchased from a choir member or by calling 231 838 0600. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to support the youth choirs and VWB programming. Raffle tickets are $30 each with only 300 being sold. The drawing will be held February 12, 2022.

Huge turnout for tree lighting ceremony
A large crowd turned out for the first in-person Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in two years in downtown Harbor Springs last Friday night.

After the tree lighting, many of those in attendance enjoyed an ecumenical chili dinner in the Holy Childhood Parish Hall with homemade cookies and hot cocoa courtesy of the American Legion Auxiliary and their sponsor, First Community Bank.

Earlier in the day, local kids were treated to a free showing of Encanto, the new Disney holiday movie, courtesy of the Harbor Springs Fire Department and the Harbor Springs Lyric Theatre. After the movie, Santa met with children outside of the theater.

Thank you to our event sponsors: A+ Entertains, which provided the lights and sound system, and Irish Boat Shop, the stage sponsor.

Thanks also to Harbor Shores Cleaning Company for providing an additional free hot chocolate location.
