*Introduction to Shakespeare
Alumni of TWCFC have become lawyers, teachers, ministers, as well as actors. Past students of Auntie that have made it to Broadway include Emily Skinner (starred in "Two by Two" and "The Full Monty") and Chris Ayres (played Young Charlie with Anthony Newley in 'Young Charlie' and toured with 'Peter Pan). Others have made it to Hollywood, appearing in "Major Payne", "Jaws", and "Rollercoaster." Many have appeared in commercials, have graduated from Theatre Arts programs at VCU and other area colleges, and have appeared on local stages. TWCFC's classes are small and instruction is focused at the experience level of students. As the academic year ends, students prepare for and perform a Theatre Showcases of one act plays and monologues for parents and friends in May. Young actors are also given the opportunity to join the Touring Program and perform in public and private schools in the greater Richmond and Southside areas during the school year. At year end, students receive their diplomas, touring plaques, and trophies. TWCFC was founded by Una Harrison aka "Auntie", a well known Actress, Singer, Director, Playwright, and Teacher. Harrison has taught Theatre Arts in the area for 28 years. She was asked to open the Community School of Performing Arts at VCU, where she taught for 18 years. Harrison also taught her Theatre program at the Appomattox Regional Governors School for 10 years. We are excited about opening up our "Little Theatre" in Ole Towne, the heart of Petersburg!
